Sash lock capable of bi-directional engagement
A sash lock for a sash window assembly is disclosed. The sash window assembly includes an upper sash window and a lower sash window. Each of the sash windows is mounted within opposed guide rails on a master frame. At least one of the sash windows is slidable within the frame relative to the other sash window. The sash lock comprises either a keeper, with a keeper opening, for mounting on a rail of one of the sash windows or a recess in the lower rail of the upper sash. The sash lock disclosed herein includes a housing having a hole, an actuator arm, and a cam having a cam element for receipt into the keeper opening or the recess. The locking assembly also includes a shaft extending through the housing hole and operably coupling the actuator arm to the cam.
ANIMAL CRATE
A door assembly for an animal enclosure includes a door frame and a door each having a plurality of interconnected horizontal and vertical wires. The door frame defines an opening for an animal to pass therethrough, and the door is slidably coupled to the door frame such that it moves between an open position and a closed position relative to the door frame to allow egress and ingress through the opening. A catch member is coupled to the door frame. A latch includes a base member, a bolt, and a lever portion. A first vertical wire and a second vertical wire of the door are spaced from one another such that the first vertical wire is at a first end of the door and the second vertical wire is at a second end of the door. In the closed position, the bolt is coupled to the first vertical wire.
INTEGRATED FENESTRATION STATUS MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR THE SAME
A fenestration assembly includes a fenestration frame and at least one panel movable between open and closed positions. A locking mechanism is coupled with the at least one panel and includes at least one latch and at least one latch fastener. The panel includes a secure configuration with the panel in the closed position and the latch coupled with the latch fastener. In the unsecure configuration one or more of the panel is in the open position or the latch is decoupled from the latch fastener. A status monitoring assembly monitors the secure and unsecure configurations and includes a sensor operator coupled with the latch, and a sensor coupled with one of the fenestration frame or the panel. In the secure configuration, the status monitoring assembly detects the sensor operator with the sensor if the panel is in the closed position and the latch is coupled with the latch fastener.
CHILD LOCK FOR A SLIDING WINDOW OR DOOR
The invention relates to a child lock 10 for a sliding window or door 7, 37 arranged in a frame or support 6, 36, comprising a base part 11, 21 and a wing part 13, 22 pivotally arranged on a side of the base part 11, 21; the base part 11, 21 including a means of attachment to the existing frame or support 6, 36 by adhesive or screws or like, and a spring 14, 24 is provided acting on the wing part 22 and which urges the wing part 22 into a first position out of alignment with the base part 11,21 and in which first position it impedes the movement of a window or door when the lock is fitted by a user into a location adjacent to the edge of the window or door which is desired to be locked, and which wing part 13, 22 is movable by the user in a first direction against the action of the spring 14, 24 to a second position in which is does not impede the movement of the window or door 7, 37 and the door or window 7, 37 may then be opened and whilst open retains the wing part 13, 22 in the second position, wherein a secondary lock wing part 15, 27 is provided and arranged on the wing part 13, 22 the secondary lock wing part 15, 27 being urged by means of a secondary lock spring 16, 28 which urges the secondary lock wing part into a locked position which acts to prevent movement of the wing part 13, 22 the secondary lock wing part 15, 27 being movable by the user in a second direction to an unlocked position in which movement of the winged part 13, 22 is permitted enabling the wing part 13, 22 to be pressed to the second position in which the movement of the window or door, 6,7, 37 is not impeded. The secondary lock wing part 15, 27 can be pivotally arranged on the wing part 13, 22. The second direction is approximately orthogonal to the first direction.
SASH LOCK ASSEMBLY FOR FENESTRATION SYSTEMS
The disclosure relates to a lock assembly for fenestration systems, such as sash window assemblies. The lock assembly includes an actuator with a shaft extending through a cavity of a body, where the shaft is coupled to a locking cam for rotation therewith. In this arrangement, rotation of the actuator urges rotation of the shaft within the cavity and corresponding rotation of the locking cam, where the shaft and locking cam are designed to facilitate rotation of the shaft through a greater degree of rotational positions relative to the locking cam.
Forced-entry-resistant sash lock
A forced-entry resistant sash lock includes a housing, a shaft pivotally mounted to the housing, a cam mounted on the shaft using an elongated opening permitting selective rotational and translational movements, and a separation member secured to the shaft. In the unlocked position, upon shaft rotation in a first direction a cam surface on the separation member engages a follower surface on the cam causing co-rotation of the cam into a non-forced entry-resistant locked position, and upon continued rotation the cam surface moves relative to the follower surface causing cam translation into a forced-entry-resistant locked position through movement of the shaft within the elongated opening, until an engagement surface of the separation member engages a contact surface of the cam, preventing forced reverse cam translation. The cam translation causes a cam stop surface to engage a housing stop surface preventing forced cam counter-rotation.
Tamper resistant sash lock
A tamper-resistant sash window lock includes a housing, a shaft, a cam, and a lever member. An interior surface of the housing wall that defines a cavity. A portion of the interior surface of the housing wall is curved about a hole in the housing, with a distal end of the wall portion formed into a lock surface. The shaft is rotatably mounted in the hole, and a hub of the cam is rotatably mounted on the shaft. The cam has a cantilevered arm with a lock surface and an engagement surface. The lever member is fixedly secured to the shaft, for a first side thereof to engage and drive the cam hub in a first rotational direction into a lock position when the shaft is actuated in the first rotational direction, so the lock surface of the cantilevered arm engages the lock surface of the housing preventing forced entry.
Friction latch for sliding sash window
A latch unit for a sliding window mountable within a window frame. A cam portion engages the first side of a retention bar for urging the lip against the resiliency of a spring toward an unlatched configuration in which the flange disengages the frame as the handle is hingedly rotated.
Fenestration lock assemblies and methods
Fenestration lock assemblies, fenestration units including the lock assemblies, and methods of operating the lock assemblies. The lock assemblies offer a lock assembly construction that is capable of being assembled, installed, and used in a purely manual mode (i.e., in the absence of any driving unit such as, e.g., a motor, solenoid, etc.) or that may be assembled, installed, and used with a driving unit such that the lock assembly can be operated manually or in a driven mode, with the manual and driven modes of operation being unaffected by each other.
LOCK, FITTING, STRIKE PLATE AND CLOSING DEVICE FOR SLIDING DOORS AND SLIDING DOOR SYSTEM
A lock, a fitting and a strike plate, in addition to a closing device for sliding doors, allow frontal or lateral locking of a sliding door. Further a sliding door system has a closing device.
