Sash window restrictor
09816300 · 2017-11-14 · ·

A sash window restrictor (20) has a housing (22) which is to be let into a vertical frame member (10) of one sash (normally the upper, outer sash) of a window, at a position, say, 10 cm above the top rail of the lower sash when the windows are closed. A tab (24) is mounted in the housing and can be retracted into the housing or extended from the housing. A mechanism acts between the tab and the housing and allows the tab to be pressed into the housing and held in the housing for a period of time before the tab is released to allow the tab to extend. With the tab extended, the lower sash (12) can be lifted until it reaches the tab (24) but no further, so that a 10 cm gap will be opened at the bottom of the window.

SASH LOCK ASSEMBLY FOR FENESTRATION SYSTEMS
20210404218 · 2021-12-30 ·

The disclosure relates to a lock assembly for fenestration systems, such as sash window assemblies. The lock assembly includes an actuator with a shaft extending through a cavity of a body, where the shaft is coupled to a locking cam for rotation therewith. In this arrangement, rotation of the actuator urges rotation of the shaft within the cavity and corresponding rotation of the locking cam, where the shaft and locking cam are designed to facilitate rotation of the shaft through a greater degree of rotational positions relative to the locking cam.

True indicating automated sash lock

An automated sash lock for locking a window sash comprises a linearly depressible trigger, a cam-style locking element normally biased towards a locked position, a rotatable detent actuated by the trigger, a pivotable transfer element between the detent and the locking element, and an actuator for manually operating the lock mechanism to unlock the lock when the window is in a closed and locked position. The detent is normally biased in the direction of the locking element and a portion of the detent engages a body portion of the locking element to maintain the locking element in a retracted position when the window is open. Upon actuation of the trigger by a closing window, the trigger translates linearly into the lock housing and rotates the detent into the disengaged position, pulling the detent away from the locking element and allowing the locking element to fire out of the lock housing and into an opening in a strike in the adjacent sash to prevent the sashes from relative sliding movement.

Removable window vent stop

A window vent stop is disclosed having a housing with a peripheral flange defining an opening, and a body depending from the peripheral flange. A stop block is mounted within the body of the housing for movement between an open position wherein a portion of the stop block protrudes above the peripheral flange and a closed position. A spring leg is located on a bottom end of the housing and flexes toward the housing when under compression, providing compressive force along a line parallel to a longitudinal axis of the housing when the window vent stop is inserted into an opening in a window sash. By applying force to further compress the spring leg, the vent stop can be readily removed from the window sash without damage.

A vent stop includes: a housing; a tumbler; a biasing member having a first portion secured to the tumbler and a second portion in movable contact with a housing track, to selectively bias the tumbler. Movement of the second portion along the track is coordinated with sequential pivoting of the tumbler between extended, retracted, partially extended, and intermediate positions. In the extended position, a tumbler bearing surface limits opening of the sash member. When toggled from the extended position to the retracted position and subsequently released, outward bias of the tumbler is limited to the partially extended position by contact of the second portion with a track recess. Subsequent contact of the sash member with the deflection surface causes pivoting from the partially extended to the intermediate position, permitting unrestricted sash member opening, release of the second portion from the contact point, and biasing back toward the extended position.

A lock kit for a fenestration assembly includes a panel stop. The fenestration assembly includes a first panel and a second panel, at least one of the first and second panels being slideable relative the other of the first and second panels. The panel stop is configured to pivotably mount within a recess of a frame member of the first panel and pivot between a first stop position configured to maintain the first and second panels in a fully closed position, a second stop position configured to limit sliding of the first and second panels beyond a preset partially-open position, and a third position substantially within the recess, the third position being configured to not restrict a range of motion of the first and second panels.

A sliding door includes a panel configured to slide along a path; a holding member including an abutting portion and defining a channel configured for receiving therein at least a segment of the panel; and a stop member being displaceable between an engaged state in which a first end of the stop member engages the abutting portion and a second end of the stop member engages the segment thereby precluding sliding of the panel in a direction away from the holding member and a disengaged state in which the stop member allows sliding of the panel.
