The second base frame is pivotally coupled to the first base frame by a connection device that enables manual removal of the second base frame from the intermediate frame without use of a tool, thus facilitating manual removal of the second cowl portion from the first cowl portion without the use of the tool.

Invertible boat outboard motor lock
An invertible, boat outboard motor lock that places an impenetrable enclosure around the pivotable arms of a pair of cap screws that are used to frictionally affix a boat motor to the transom of a boat. When in place and locked, access to remove the boat motor from the boat is blocked. The pivotable arms are placed into either end of a trough formed in a unitary block and the assembly is placed into a concave cover housing. The housing may be installed in either of two orientations, 180 degrees apart. A lock cylinder is passed through the housing and block preventing their separation.
INVERTIBLE BOAT OUTBOARD MOTOR LOCK
An invertible, boat outboard motor lock that places an impenetrable enclosure around the pivotable arms of a pair of cap screws that are used to frictionally affix a boat motor to the transom of a boat. When in place and locked, access to the means to remove the boat motor from the boat is blocked. The pivotable arms are placed into either end of a trough formed in a unitary block and the assembly is placed into a concave cover housing. The housing may be installed in either of two orientations, 180 degrees apart. A lock cylinder is passed through the housing and block preventing their separation.
Immobilization device for steering system of marine outboard motors
An immobilization device for steering systems on marine motors. The device comprises a first and second member, each member having two opposite ends, a non-immobilizing fastener connecting the first member near one of its ends to the second member near one of its ends, and a compressing fastener connecting the first member near the other of its ends to the second member near the other of its ends. The compressing fastener operates to draw the first and second members closer together. The device may also be part of an immobilization system comprising at least one of the devices and a steering system having a steering shaft and a steering ram. The device is assembled around the steering shaft and the compressing fastener is capable of applying sufficient compressive force to resist the steering ram sliding along the steering shaft.
Cowlings and latching assemblies for cowlings on marine drives
A latching assembly is for a cowl on a marine drive, the cowl having a first cowl portion and a second cowl portion that mates with the first cowl portion. A latching device is configured to latch and unlatch the first cowl portion to the second cowl portion. An actuator actuates the latching device. A flexible connector has a first end coupled to the latching device and a second end coupled to the actuator. Actuation of the actuator pulls the flexible connector to rotate a pulley and actuate the latching device. One of the first and second ends has a spherical bearing that is nested in a cylindrical bearing and seated in a cavity in the pulley. Pulling on the flexible connector pulls the spherical bearing against the cylindrical bearing such that the cylindrical bearing is pulled against the cavity in the pulley, thereby causing the pulley to rotate.
