Method for extending and retracting vehicular door handle
A method for extending and retracting a handle of a door handle assembly for a door of a vehicle includes providing a door handle assembly having a base portion, a handle portion that is movably attached at the base portion, and an electrically operable actuator that operates to move the handle portion relative to the base portion. A control controls operation of the actuator to move the handle portion between a recessed position and a partially extended position. Responsive to detecting presence of an authorized user, a sensing system determines a motion vector of the user that is indicative of a direction that the user is moving relative to the vehicle. Responsive to determining that the determined motion vector is indicative of the user approaching the door of the vehicle, the control controls operation of the actuator to move the handle portion to the partially extended position.

VEHICULAR ACCESS SYSTEM WITH EXTENDABLE AND RETRACTABLE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY
A vehicular access system includes a door handle assembly having (i) a base mounted at a door of a vehicle, (ii) a handle movable relative to the base and (iii) an electrically operable actuator that is electrically operated to move the handle relative to the base. The handle is movable between a recessed position and a partially extended position. The vehicular access system controls operation of the electrically operable actuator to move the handle between the recessed position and the partially extended position. The vehicular access system detects an authorized user and determines movement of the detected authorized user. Responsive to determination that the authorized user is approaching the door of the vehicle, the vehicular access system unlocks the door handle assembly and controls operation of the electrically operable actuator to move the handle to the partially extended position.

Vehicle
A wheeled vehicle includes a rear opening that is formed in a rear surface of a vehicle body, a tailgate that is provided to open and close the rear opening, a sub door opening that is formed in a transverse portion of the tailgate, and a sub door that is provided to open and close the sub door opening. In the tailgate, a tailgate side window panel is provided on the tailgate, and a sub door side window panel is provided on the sub door. These tailgate side window panel and the sub door side window panel are made substantially level with each other while being disposed continuously in a transverse direction. The control unit prohibits the operation of a wiper device that moves over the individual window panels so as to clean and remove water therefrom, with the sub door left open.

OPENING/CLOSING BODY OPENING/CLOSING DEVICE
An opening/closing body opening/closing device includes: an opening/closing body; a closing mechanism; an opening/driving body driving section; a control section; and a position detection section. The closing mechanism includes an engaging portion, an engaged portion, a closing mechanism-side driving section, and an interaction detection section. The control section causes the closing mechanism-side driving section to perform closing driving and, after the closing driving, sets the engaging part to an open state so as to allow the closing mechanism to lock the opening/closing body through engagement between the engaging portion and the engaged portion when a positional difference between a current position and an engageable position of the opening/closing body is outside a predetermined range. Use of the opening/closing body opening/closing device makes a zero position of the opening/closing body settable in an originally supposed position even when the closing mechanism operates while the opening/closing body is in an improper position.
Electronic trigger rotary pawl latch
An electronic trigger rotary latch includes a trigger cutout, a controller in electrical communication with a plug receiver. Springs are engaged to the latch and trigger pawls. A gear motor having an actuator engages a surface of the trigger pawl. A handle includes a striker bolt and an electrical plug. In an unlatched configuration the striker bolt is separated from the latch pawl, an electrical circuit is open, the latch pawl spring has reduced compression, the trigger pawl spring has increased compression, and the trigger tip is engaged to a latch tab. The actuator has moved the lower leg in the trigger cutout. In the latched configuration, the striker bolt is held by the latch pawl, an electrical circuit is closed, the trigger tip is engaged to the latch shoulder, and the trigger leg has been moved in the trigger cutout in an opposite direction.
