11242697 · 2022-02-08 · ·

A road freight transport security system for a vehicle, is described, which comprises a database; and a portable electronic device running a security application. The security application is configured to prompt a user to carry out a plurality of external security checks of the vehicle, provide a facility for the user to confirm completion of those checks, provide a facility for the user to associate one or more photographs, taken by the portable electronic device, with one or more of the checks, and to upload log data to the database, the log data indicating at least a date and time of completion of the checks. A sensor device is also provided, mounted within a freight area of the vehicle, having one or more sensors, and being operable to communicate an alert to the portable electronic device in the event that an anomaly is detected inside the freight area. In this way, real time detection of security breaches within a freight trailer or container may be achieved. The driver is not required to engage directly with an intruder, and is facilitated in reporting the crime and demonstrating that appropriate precautions had been taken. Accordingly, driver safety may be improved and freight thefts and or losses via contamination reduced.

Wireless security for freight container seals
11183086 · 2021-11-23 ·

Systems and methods can secure freight container seals using electronic sensors. A hardened sensor clamp housing can include one or more sensing portals. The sensor clamp housing can receive a bolt seal through each of the sensing portals. One or more seal sensors may be positioned proximate to the sensing portals to sense a physical characteristic of the inserted bolt seal. This characteristic may be electrical, optical, magnetic, or so forth. The seal sensors can generate an electrical signal associated with cutting or tampering with the inserted bolt seal. The electrical signal can be coupled to a sensor clamp module operable to determine a tamper state of the bolt seal in response to the associated electrical signal. The determined tamper state can be communicated via a sensor clamp wireless module to a container controller or communications gateway.

RAILROAD CONTAINER LOCKING BAR AND METHOD OF USE
20230313572 · 2023-10-05 ·

The locking bar is magnetically attached to a container having a door which swings to a closed position to prevent access to the container. The locking bar includes a base and a blocking part extending from the base. The blocking part is located to prevent movement of the door from the closed position when the container is situated on the base. The weight of the container on the base prevents the locking bar from being removed from the container. Protrusions extending from the top of the base and from the bottom of the base further secure the locking bar from removal. A second blocking part may extend in a direction opposite the first locking bar for securing doors on stacked containers.
