TEMPORARY STRIKE PLATE WITH LOCKING FEATURES
A door locking apparatus is provided which includes an integrated plate having a strike plate adjoined to an extension, and a lock coupled to a flexible elongate member. The strike plate includes an aperture and fastener holes, and is configured such that it securely affixes to the recess of a door frame when the door is open. The extension is shaped to protrude from the surrounding frame when the strike plate is installed to the frame. The elongate member extends from the extension and is of sufficient length to wrap around a door handle when the door is closed. The lock can pass through the elongate member and an intermediate portion thereof passes through the lock, or, through an opening in the extension such that the door cannot be opened without unlocking the lock and removing it from the elongate member when the elongate member is wrapped around the handle.
Doorlock safety chain release mechanism
The doorlock safety chain release mechanism comprises an anchor fixture mounted to a door frame and a door plate assembly mounted to the door. The door plate assembly has a horizontal channel with a horizontal slot in the front wall of the channel. A chain has one end thereof attached to the anchor fixture and a release connector is mounted to the other end. A slider is mounted in the channel. The release connector has a ball-detent connector mounted therein, and engaged into the slider. The ball-detent connector is operable by depressing the plunger of the connector through the slider and into a hole in the backing plate of the channel. An operation of the ball-detent connector is checked by the backing plate when the plunger is unaligned with the hole in the backing plate. Applications for this lock mechanism are not limited to door locks.
Door guard assembly
A door guard assembly is provided comprising: a first part that is attachable to a door; a second part that is attachable to a door frame; an elongate member; a slidable plate that comprises a receiving means; wherein the first part and/or the second part and/or the elongate member further comprise(s) a dampening means; and, wherein the elongate member is attached to the first part or the second part and in use can be engaged with the receiving means of the plate located on the other first or second part respectively when the plate is slid into an operating position such that the receiving means engages the outer surface of the elongate member as the door is opened and the receiving means and elongate member thus limit the opening of the door, and the dampening means absorbs an impact force that may be applied to the door whose opening has been limited in this way.
Truck tailgate with check strap
A vehicle including a bed, and a tailgate, pivotally attached to the vehicle to close off a rear end of the bed, the tailgate having a front surface and a side with a pull tab recess. A check strap has a forward end attached to the bed and a rearward end; and an extension bracket has an extension plate pivotally connecting at a forward end to the rearward end of the check strap, a rear fastener pivotally securing the extension plate to the side of the tailgate, a pull tab extending through the extension plate and laterally slidable out of the pull tab recess, the extension plate extending essentially parallel to the front surface when the pull tab is received in the pull tab recess.
DOOR CHAIN DEVICE
A door guard plate having a main body, internal of which are located two compression springs. A chain holder comprising a body and a chain arm having a free end for releasably engaging a chain and a body portion is provided. The main body comprises a slot and the body portion of the chain holder body is contained within the main body and the chain arm of the chain holder extends through the slot of the main body to protrude therefrom and slide therein.
APPARATUS FOR AN ANTI-BREACH DEVICE ON A DOOR
An apparatus for an anti-breach device on a door. The apparatus has a latching mechanism and a strap encased within housing. The housing is mounted to or near a doorframe or wall. The latching mechanism at least partially captures, engages, connects or attaches the door handle. The tension on the strap cinches the latching mechanism and thus tightens the latching mechanism around the door handle to prevent the door from opening either inside or outside.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF SECURING A PORTAL
Systems and methods of securing a portal are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a portal securing system includes a permanent or semi-permanent component and a transportable component. The permanent or semi-permanent component includes at least one anchor element, with each anchor element being configured to attach to a wall or frame associated with a portal. The transportable component includes a longitudinal element coupled to a coupling mechanism, with the transportable component having at least a certain minimum breaking load. Further, the longitudinal element has first and second ends, with each end having a loop or lariat assembly. The portal securing system is operable to prevent the portal from being opened while the transportable component is securely coupled between the permanent or semi-permanent component and a locking mechanism of the portal.
DOOR CHAIN DEVICE
A door chain assembly comprising a chain and an anchor plate. The anchor plate comprises a back plate and a chain-receiving plate and the chain-receiving plate extends from the back plate. The chain-receiving plate is provided with an aperture and/or a chain-holding slot. The chain comprises a plurality of links with adjacent links being rotationally offset with respect to one another.
