Collision energy absorbing apparatus, systems, and methods
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for absorbing energy in a hinge are provided. An apparatus may include a first portion, a second portion coupled to the first portion to move relative to the first portion, and a tab configured relative to the first and second portions to absorb energy imparted to the second portion during a collision. The tab may be bendable via rotation as the second portion moves towards the first portion during the collision. The first portion may be a hinge bracket securable to a vehicle body. The second portion may be a hinge arm securable to a vehicle hood. The tab may be positioned at least partially between the first portion and the second portion for selective interference of the tab with one of the first portion and the second portion.
LIGHT WEIGHT HINGE
A hinge for a hood assembly of the type used in a motor vehicles. The hinge includes at least one structural composite component, attached to one of the hood and the body of a vehicle, and configured to include a plastic portion overmolded into a core panel.
Hinge assembly for an engine hood of a motor vehicle and motor vehicle
A hinge assembly for an engine hood of a motor vehicle, having a hinge substructure, which can be attached to a body component of the motor vehicle, and having a hinge upper part, which can be attached to the engine hood. The hinge upper part is retained on the hinge substructure so as to pivot about a pivoting axis. The hinge assembly includes at least one support element, which enables deformation of the hinge substructure in a first direction, in which the hinge substructure can be moved away from a limit stop area of the at least one support element. The at least one support element limits deformation of the hinge substructure in a second direction opposite the first direction by means of the limit stop area. Furthermore, the invention relates to a motor vehicle having at least one such hinge assembly.
HINGE FOR A VEHICLE HOOD
A hinge for a hood of a vehicle includes a first bracket, a member coupled to and rotatable relative to the first bracket, and a second bracket coupled to and rotatable relative to the member. An actuator includes a base connected to the first bracket and a rod moveable relative to the base. The rod moves from a retracted position to an extended position in contact with the second bracket.
Motor vehicle door with hinge reinforcement
A motor vehicle door is configured to hingedly mount to the body of a motor vehicle. The door includes a door structure having a hinge reinforcement arranged on an interior side of the door structure. The hinge reinforcement includes a respective mounting flange section abutting the door structure on at least two opposing outer edges and a force absorption area between the at least two opposing mounting flange sections. The force absorption area is situated at a distance from the door structure to define a hollow space there between. The force absorption area is supported against the door structure by at least one bushing.
ACTIVE PEDESTRIAN HOOD HINGE WITH INTEGRATED LATCH ASSEMBLY
An active hinge including a hood bracket for attachment to a vehicle hood, a body bracket for attachment to a vehicle body, and a deploy bracket pivotally connected to the hood bracket and the body bracket. A pawl is pivotally connected to one of the hood bracket and the deploy bracket. A bolt is fixed to one of the hood bracket and the deploy bracket. The pawl is moveable between an unlocked position in which the pawl is spaced from the bolt, and a locked position wherein the pawl engages the bolt to fix the hood bracket to the deploy bracket. An actuator is configured to move the locking hook from the first to the second position and to cause the hood bracket to move. At least one locking element limits movement of the hood bracket relative to the body bracket.
Locking device for a movable part of a vehicle
A locking device for a movable part of a vehicle, in particular for a bonnet of a vehicle, having a locking mechanism which can be mounted on the body side and intended for receiving a lock holder arranged on the movable part, and also having a raising mechanism which can be brought into contact with the lock holder and intended for moving the movable part into at least one protection position, wherein the raising mechanism has at least a first overload protector, with the result that, in a load situation, the movable part is movable from the protection position into an impact position.
Active pedestrian hood hinge with integrated latch assembly
An active hinge including a hood bracket for attachment to a vehicle hood and a body bracket for attachment to a vehicle body. A deploy bracket is pivotally attached to the hood bracket and the body bracket. The hood bracket is pivotable relative to the deploy bracket between a non-deployed position and a deployed position. At least one link interconnects, and is pivotally connected to the deploy bracket and the body bracket. A pawl is pivotally mounted to one of the hood bracket, the body bracket, the deploy bracket, and the at least one link. A bolt for engagement by the pawl is connected to another of the hood bracket, the body bracket, the deploy bracket, and the at least one link. An actuator is provided for disengaging the pawl from the bolt to allow the deploy bracket to move relative to the hood bracket and the body bracket.
Bonnet hinge structure
The disclosure provides a bonnet hinge structure. The bonnet hinge structure pivotally supports the bonnet to the vehicle body from the rear end of the bonnet, and includes: a lower hinge member fixed to the vehicle body; an upper hinge member fixed to the bonnet fixing portion of the bonnet, and pivotally connected to the lower hinge member in a manner of being able to rotate to a first height relative to the lower hinge member in the up-down direction of the vehicle body; and a rotation suppressing portion provided with a deviation restricting member. When the upper hinge member is deformed in the left-right direction of the vehicle body, the deviation restricting member comes into contact with the upper hinge member at a position of the second height lower than the first height from the top of the upper hinge member, and prevents the upper hinge member from rotating.
