OBJECT DETECTION SENSOR AND AUTOMATIC DOOR SYSTEM
The object detection sensor includes: a sensing unit to detect to-be-detected rays from a target object to output a sensing signal, a control unit to command output of a predetermined detection signal in response to input of sensing signal, a sensor output to output predetermined detection signal in response to command, a test signal reception to receive a test signal, and a test signal response to output a test response signal in response to reception of test signal, and further includes: a learning mode transition input to start a learning mode, a test signal determination to determine a state of received test signal in learning mode, a test signal estimation to estimate a characteristic of test signal from determined state of test signal, and a test signal verification to verify whether estimated characteristic of test signal is included in test signal received by test signal reception.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SAFETY MANAGEMENT IN ROLL-UP DOORS
A safety curtain and system includes multiple light emitters and multiple light receivers to detect traffic approaching a doorway. The safety curtain may include pairs of multiple light emitters and receivers positioned on both sides of a passageway (doorway) so as to detect approaching traffic. The multiple light emitters and light receivers may detect a height of an approaching traffic (e.g., person or vehicle) and initiate warning lights of a possible door closing. The detected approach of traffic may cause the door to be stopped, reversed or slow down. The system may include a computer to monitor the signals from the receivers and may control the motion of the door.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR OPERATING AN AUTOMATIC DOOR SYSTEM
An improved method and an improved apparatus for operating an automatic door system are distinguished by the following features, inter alia: — a sensor device (9) is used, which implements a monitoring region (19) assigned to and/or disposed upstream of the leaves (1; 1a, 1b) for the detection of objects (P, G) which are situated and/or moving in said monitoring region (19), — by means of the sensor device (9) and/or by means of the control and/or evaluation device (11), an object (P, G) situated in the monitoring region (19) is detected with regard to the position and direction of movement of said object and also with regard to the width, size and/or contour (K) or overall contour (23) of said object, and — depending on the movement-dependent position and direction of movement (21) and also the width, size and/or contour (K) or overall contour (23) of the detected object (P, G), the at least one leaf (1; 1a; 1b) is moved, in particular opened, readjusted and/or closed, in an object-related manner.

AUTOMATIC DOOR INSTALLATION AND METHOD OF DETERMINING THE PRESENCE OF AN OBSTACLE
There is disclosed an automatic door installation 10 comprising: a door opening 16; and an optical door sensor comprising: a plurality of transmitters 30 arranged in a transmitter array 22, each transmitter 30 being configured to transmit an optical beam across the door opening along a respective beam path; a plurality of receivers 32 arranged in a receiver array 24, each receiver 32 being configured to generate a receiver output signal based on an intensity of light received. The plurality of receivers 32 are arranged in at least one set of receivers, the receivers of the or each set being linked so that the respective sensor output signals are combined into a compound signal for the respective set.
METHOD FOR LOWERING A WINDOW PANE OF A VEHICLE DOOR, AND VEHICLE WHICH IS DESIGNED FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD
A vehicle and method for lowering a window pane of a door of a vehicle to make it easier for the vehicle occupant to enter and exit the vehicle. The door has a door unlocking apparatus and a drive device for lowering and raising the window pane. The vehicle has an unlocking sensor, which registers the operation or the imminent operation of the door unlocking apparatus and converts the operation or imminent operation into corresponding unlocking signals, and a control unit, which receives the unlocking signals and converts the signals into operating signals for triggering the drive device. The method checks whether the door unlocking apparatus is operated or operation is imminent and, if the door unlocking apparatus is operated or operation is imminent, triggers the drive device with the control unit to lower the window pane to a position which is easier for the vehicle occupant to enter and exit the vehicle.
