HINGE ASSEMBLY FOR A DOOR OF A REFRIGERATING COMPARTMENT
A hinge assembly for a door, the hinge assembly including a hinge pin arranged to be fixed to the door at one end and having a pin connector part at an opposite second end. A rotation damper connected to a damper connector part arranged to cooperate with the pin connector part for transferring torque around an axis of rotation between the damper connector part and the pin connector part throughout an opening angle of the door, such that a rotational movement of the damper connector part about the axis of rotation in at least a first rotational direction is dampened by the rotation damper. The pin connector part and the damper connection part allow an initial closing angle of rotation of the door before the damper acts on the rotation of the hinge pin, the initial closing angle being at least 2°.
Appliance control using e-field gesture sensor measurement
A controller device is provided that includes an e-field sensor that includes a transmitter electrode formed of a first conductive material, an isolation layer formed of a dielectric material to at least partially cover the transmitter electrode, a first receive electrode formed on the isolation layer of a second conductive material, and a second receive electrode formed on the isolation layer of the second conductive material, wherein the second receive electrode is a mirror image of the first receive electrode on the isolation layer. A gesture performance by a user within a sensing area of the e-field sensor is detected by comparing a received first signal to a received second signal. When an appliance component is responsive to the detected gesture, a control signal is sent to the appliance component indicating that the appliance component perform an action associated with the detected gesture.
Tensioning system for appliance door
A door tensioning system for an oven or other appliance includes a chain and spring assembled as a pull member attached at one end to a door and at an opposite end to a base member of the appliance in a manner maintaining spring-mediated tension between the door and the base/bulk of the appliance. The pull member is routed around a bracket-assembly-mounted pulley, where the bracket assembly includes at least one movable bracket member that is movable with the pulley in a manner that will increase or decrease tension in the pull member by increasing/decreasing its effective length between its ends.
Door Latch With Opening And Closing Mechanical Advantage
A door latch which provides leverage to the door in both the closing and opening operations of the latch's door handle. The door latch has a door axle attached to an edge of the door and a striker is attached to the cabinet. A latch pivoting component has a base bearing journaled to the door axle and a handle attached to the base bearing for manually rotating the base bearing about the door axle. A cam is attached to the base bearing and is engageable with the striker by rotation of the base bearing. The cam includes a closing cam segment and an opening cam segment. The opening cam segment engages and slides along the striker as the latch pivoting component is rotated in an opening direction of rotation. The closing cam segment engages and slides along the striker as the latch pivoting component is rotated in a closing direction of rotation.
SELF-OPENING COOLER COMPRISING THREE DOOR PARTS
An automatic sliding door system includes a door frame having a first end and an opposite second end, configured and adapted for placement at a housing of a cooler; an at least three-parting door connected to the door frame, the at least three-part door including a first door part, a second door part and a third door part, each door part slidably connected to the door frame and in some cases each door part having a rectangular shape; and at least one drive element configured and adapted for moving the first, second and/or third door part. The present disclosure also relates to a cooler with such an automatic sliding door system.
APPLIANCES WITH RELEASABLE DOOR HINGES AND TETHER SYSTEMS
An appliance includes a cabinet, defining a food storage chamber, and a door. The appliance includes a hinge system coupling the door to the cabinet. The hinge system includes a first hinge arm fixed to the door, a second hinge arm pivotably joined with the first hinge arm, a carrier fixed to the cabinet, the second hinge arm releasably received in the carrier, and a tether cable extending between a first end and a second end. The first end of the tether cable fixed to the second hinge arm, the second end of the tether cable removably attached to a surface inside the food storage chamber. The tether cable configured such that the door may be detachable from the cabinet when the second end of the tether cable becomes detached from the surface inside the food storage chamber.
SLIDING DOOR ARRANGEMENT FOR A FREEZER CABINET
The invention relates to a sliding door arrangement for a freezer cabinet, comprising a door frame (1), at least one sliding door (2), wherein the sliding door (2) is movable along the frame plane between an open position and a closed position, and a guiding device (3), wherein the guiding device (2) comprises roller arrangements (4) each with a first roller axis (5) and at least one guiding element (6) guiding the movement of the sliding door (2), characterized in that the guiding device (3) is designed in such a manner that the sliding door (2) moves transversely to the frame plane during a movement from the open position to the closed position, for which purpose the guiding element (6) has a parallel portion (7) and an end portion (8), and the roller arrangements (4) each have at least one further roller axis (9).
Freezer with releasable door hinges
A freezer appliance includes a cabinet defining a food storage chamber. A door is positioned on the cabinet and is movable between a closed position and an open position. The door is rotatably and releasably coupled to the cabinet by a hinge. The hinge includes a first hinge arm fixed to one of the door or the cabinet, a second hinge arm pivotably joined with the first hinge arm, and a carrier fixed to the other of the door or the cabinet. The second hinge arm is releasably received in the carrier, such that the door is detachable from the cabinet.
DOOR-IN-DOOR REFRIGERATOR WITH SLIDING DOOR
A door assembly for an appliance includes a frame door defining a vertical direction, a lateral direction, and a transverse direction, the frame door being attached to the cabinet and movable between an open position and a closed position to permit selective access to the cavity; an outer door slidably connected to the frame door, the outer door being slidable relative to the frame door between an open position and a closed position; and a slide assembly connecting the outer door to the frame door.
