The connection means includes a fixing block, with a first aperture therethrough, arranged to fit within the wall channel and between the wall and adjustment channels, the first aperture arranged to receive a wall fixing member arranged to pass through the base of the wall channel so as to secure the fixing block to the wall channel; and an adjustable fixing member arranged to secure the adjustment channel to the fixing block, a head of the adjustable fixing member being within the adjustment channel in use; wherein movement of the adjustable fixing member is arranged to allow movement of the adjustment channel, and the adjustment channel is arranged to receive a profile strip to cover the adjustable fixing member.
Jacking screw for adjusting a window frame
Embodiments described herein may be directed to the functional application and method of use of a jacking screw for adjusting a window frame. In accordance with the present disclosure, adjusting the jacking screw may cause a first portion of the window frame to be lifted or lowered with respect to a second portion of the window frame. In doing so, a desired alignment of a window installed in the window frame may be achieved. This process may eliminate the use of shimming the underlying surface, thereby making it easier to install the window frame on surfaces that are not perfectly level.
READY TO INSTALL DOOR SYSTEM
Ready-to-install door systems comprising, prior to installation, a door, a hinge-side z-bar, a drip cap, and a latch-side z-bar, all connected. In addition, the system may comprise door closer hardware attached to the door and either the drip cap or the hinge-side z-bar; an installation notch; or screw holders. Screw holders are also provided. Methods of installing the present door systems are also provided.
Doorframe fastening device and method of use
A doorframe fastening device facilitating the plumbing and mounting of a doorframe within a door opening comprises an insert including a tube and a flange. The flange is attached to and extends radially from a first end of the tube, which is internally and externally threaded. The insert is insertable into a void in a doorframe that is shaped complementarily to the insert. A nut can be threaded onto a second end of the tube to attach the insert to the doorframe. A set screw is threadedly inserted into the tube from the first end and is selectively extensible from the second end of the tube and into abutment with a framework, which defines a door opening. The doorframe thus is selectively adjustable relative to the framework. A mounting screw is insertable through a channel, which extends axially through the set screw, to attach the doorframe to the framework.
Adjustable packer apparatus
An adjustable packer apparatus for adjusting a clearance space between at least two support members. The adjustable packer apparatus having at least one first and one second planar member and adjustment means. The planar members are configured and spaced from each other and each include an one aperture there through whereby one planar member is movably attachable by the adjustment means through alignment of the at least one aperture of one planar member to the other planar member. The adjustment means includes at least one bolt attached to the second planar member. The first planar member has a threaded member protruding therefrom, wherein the bolt is threadingly engaged with the threaded member. The second planar member is attachable to one of the two support members which provides a stiffer or less flexible support than that provided by or for the first planar member. A method of installation is also disclosed.
Adjustable shim
An apparatus for aligning and shimming plates being anchored to a substratum having a plurality of threaded anchor holes coaxially aligned with corresponding apertures and coaxial threaded bores through each plate. The apparatus includes an external threaded cylindrical shim having a shimming surface and a second (outer) surface adapted to accept rotary force for rotational movement and adjustment of the separation produced by the shim between the substratum and the anchored plate. For anchoring, the 2.sup.nd surface of the shim further includes a counterbored or countersunk hole having a shoulder including a narrower passthrough aperture aligned with the threaded anchor hole, through which an anchor screw extends for rotational mating with the threaded anchor hole. The anchor screw also has a head wider than the passthrough aperture, and adapted to accept rotary force for rotational movement and fixing the shim in place. The apparatus may also include a cap covering the anchor screw head within the counterbored or countersunk hole, to provide a more continuous planar surface and to prevent grit or other unwanted material from collecting in the hole. The apparatus may also include an adjustment tool interfacing with the shim 2.sup.nd surface and/or the cap outer surface, for applying the desired amount of rotational force.
Adjustable support device for bay windows and other protruding building structures
An adjustable window support device is disclosed. In embodiments, the adjustable window support device includes: a horizontal segment configured to be placed into contact with a lower surface of a bay window; a vertical segment configured to be placed against a wall and configured to extend downwardly from the lower surface of the bay window along the wall; and an adjustable segment configured to extend diagonally from a bottom end of the vertical segment to the pin at or near a front end of the horizontal segment. The adjustable segment includes a first end that is pivotally coupled to the bottom end of the vertical segment and a second end that is configured to be held in a selected position by a pin that extends laterally through at least two holes at or near the front end of the horizontal segment.
