A profile for window, door, facade or cladding elements is disclosed, which comprises a profile body (2) made from thermoplastic material and extending in a longitudinal direction (z) with an essentially constant cross-section (x-y) along the longitudinal direction (z) and having at least one outer surface (2a), and a inorganic containing layer (4) deposited on at least part of the at least one outer surface (2a), wherein the thermoplastic material comprises at least one thermoplastic selected from the group containing polyamide, polyethylene, polybutylene terephthalate, acrylonitrile styrene acrylate, wherein the inorganic containing layer (4) is deposited directly on the profile body (2) using a cold spray technology, and wherein the inorganic containing layer (4) has a thickness in the range from 30 μm to 450 μm.

An insulating strip (3) connects profiles (2) of a composite profile (1) for doors, windows or faade elements. At least one of the profiles has a roll-in groove (6) and is composed of a first metal material. The insulating strip (3) includes a strip body (4) composed of an insulating material and extending in a longitudinal direction (z). A roll-in head (5) is formed at a longitudinal edge of the strip body (4). The roll-in head (5) has a cross-sectional shape in a plane (x-y) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (z) suitable for insertion into the roll-in groove (6). A metal sheet (13) having surface variations (17; 18) covers at least a portion of a surface (10, 11, 12) of the roll-in head (5). At least a portion of the sheet (13) is composed of a second metal material having a tensile strength of 300 N/mm.sup.2 or more.

A polymer-based substrate is proposed, which in particular is electrostatically coatable, wherein the substrate has a substrate base body made using a polymeric material and a two- or multi-layer coating applied to a surface region of the substrate base body, wherein a first layer of the coating is configured as a bonding layer and is arranged in contact with the surface region of the substrate base body, wherein a second layer of the coating is configured as a lacquerable cover layer, wherein at least one layer of the coating is produced as a layer with reduced surface resistance using a proportion of an electrically non-insulating material, such that it results in a specific surface resistance of this layer of about 10.sup.10 Ohm or less, and wherein at least one layer of the coating is configured as a film.

At least a portion of the sheet (13) is composed of a second metal material having a tensile strength of 300 N/mm.sup.2 or more.
