Entryway and weather strip for the same
A weather strip includes a carrier portion and a sealing portion. The carrier portion is formed from a first material that has a first resilience. The carrier is configured to mount to a surface of a frame member of an entryway. The sealing portion is integrally formed with the carrier portion and is formed from a second material. The second material has a second resilience that is greater than the first resilience. The carrier portion and the sealing portion have a constant profile along a length of the weather strip.
Jacking screw for adjusting a window frame
Embodiments described herein may be directed to the functional application and method of use of a jacking screw for adjusting a window frame. In accordance with the present disclosure, adjusting the jacking screw may cause a first portion of the window frame to be lifted or lowered with respect to a second portion of the window frame. In doing so, a desired alignment of a window installed in the window frame may be achieved. This process may eliminate the use of shimming the underlying surface, thereby making it easier to install the window frame on surfaces that are not perfectly level.
Compression gasket for sealing a window in a window frame
Embodiments described herein may be directed to the functional application and method of use of the compression gasket for sealing a window installed in a window frame. In accordance with the present disclosure, a compression gasket may comprise soft rubber portion that applies pressure against a window surface. The soft rubber portion may compress, causing a rigid plastic portion that to bow outwardly and engage inner surfaces of the window frame. The bowing out of the rigid plastic portion, which may include a leaf spring, may secure the compression gasket to the window frame. The compression gasket may be designed to stop water leakage that may occur between the window and the window frame.
Single piece, redundant, bi-directional, seal damage prevention pressure seal
An example seal for use with a laminated window is described. The seal includes a first end formed from a first material and a second end formed from the first material, with the first material being compressible when a pressure force is applied to the first material. The seal also includes a connection portion positioned between the first end and the second end. At least some of the connection portion is formed from a second material having a greater indentation hardness than an indentation hardness of the first material. An example method for installing a seal is also described.
Male and female gasket coupling for a window frame
Embodiments described herein may be directed towards a male and female gasket coupling for securing adjacent window frames. In accordance with the present disclosure, the male gasket may comprise a head portion that creates a seal inside a cavity of the female gasket. The female gasket may further be enabled to collapse on itself as it engages a surface of the male gasket. The seal may be maintained when the male and female gaskets move toward each other or when the male and female gaskets move away from each other due to fluctuations in temperature.
Sill track seal for a window frame
Embodiments described herein may be directed to the functional application and method of use of the sill track seal. In accordance with the present disclosure, a window sill track seal gasket may comprise a base portion which may be secured to a window sill frame and a protrusion portion which may be tapered and may extend upwardly from the base portion. The window sill frame may be configured for receiving a window. As a window is installed, the protrusion portion may engage a bottom surface of the window, flexing downwardly, and creating a seal between the distal end of the protrusion portion and the bottom surface of the window to prevent water leakage.
ENTRYWAY AND WEATHER STRIP FOR THE SAME
A weather strip includes a carrier portion and a sealing portion. The carrier portion is formed form a first material that has a first resilience. The carrier is configured to mount to a surface of a frame member of an entryway. The sealing portion is integrally formed with the carrier portion and is formed form a second material. The second material has a second resilience that is greater than the first resilience. The carrier portion and the sealing portion have a constant profile along a length of the weather strip.
