HANDS-FREE ELECTRONIC DOOR UNLATCHING AND/OR OPENING SYSTEM

A hands-free door unlatching and opening system is provided for an access door operatively mounted to a jamb assembly of a building, the door including a handle set having a latch normally received, with the door in a closed position, within a latch pocket of a jamb of the jamb assembly to latch the door to the jamb. The system may include a plunger axially aligned with the latch pocket opposite to the latch, an actuator operatively coupled to the plunger and responsive to actuation to advance the plunger into the latch pocket to force the latch out of the latch pocket to unlatch the door from the jamb, and means for automatically opening the door following unlatching of the door from the jamb.

GATE APPARATUS AND METHOD

A gate assembly for physical and aesthetic integration into any wall or fencing solution, and an associated method of assembling the same. The gate assembly includes a gate pivotably attached to a transom via a hinge. The gate includes side members and spacing tabs that create a channel system within the gate. The channel system is configured to receive a plurality of infill panels of various sizes and designs that aesthetically match the wall or fencing solution into which the gate assembly is being integrated. The gate further includes a cap attached to the top of the gate that traps the infill panels within the gate. When the gate is in a closed position, the cap is blocked by the transom, and no mechanical fasteners are accessible from either side of the gate assembly.

A barn door kit includes a plurality of pieces disassembled that are packaged in a much smaller footprint than an assembled barn door. The pieces that make up the door include a plurality of frame pieces and a plurality of panels. The frame pieces are connected together to create a frame of the door having a channel along an interior perimeter. The panels are configured to be inserted within the frame with the channel providing support. The panels include tongues on one side and corresponding grooves on the other side for securing adjacent panels together. The frame pieces and the panels are made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The kit also includes a track, roller brackets, handle and hardware. The hardware includes brackets mounted to upper edges of a right side frame and a left side frame to enable the roller brackets to be secured thereto.
