WINDOW FOR CIVIL AND INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS
20230027434 · 2023-01-26 ·

Described is a window (1) for civil and industrial buildings, comprising a load-bearing frame (2) for a pair of sheets (3, 4) made of optically transparent material: a first sheet (3) and a second sheet (4) which have a relative face facing, respectively, towards the outside and towards the inside of a building (9) on which the window (1) is mounted. There are also means (11, 12, 13) for converting the energy of incident sunlight into electricity, by means of the photovoltaic effect interposed between the above-mentioned sheets (3, 4).

CLIMATE ADAPTIVE GLASS ENVELOPE FOR BUILDING
20220364408 · 2022-11-17 ·

Glass buildings are characterized by contradictory requirements—high visibility and high insolation levels. Transparency will allow sun radiation into the building, while isolation will prevent heat to be ventilated through same windows. This creates a greenhouse effect during summer, leading to excessive air conditioning load. As a result, leading architects and engineers are calling for all-glass skyscrapers to be banned. The disclosed art offers an alternative glass envelope which adapts its U-Value to climate changes, by a special aluminum frame which dissipates the heat when necessary. The proposed system is sealed and the adaptation of the envelope U-Value is achieved by circulating enclosed air into the aluminum frame, significantly increasing its heat dissipation characteristics. The disclosed art overcomes most drawbacks of prior art, offering a solution with superior U-value isolating during wintertime and cooling during summertime. SHGC will be controlled by a triple glazed configuration with two parallel cavities.

ADHESIVE-ATTACHED WINDOW GLAZING ASSEMBLY, MULTI-GLAZED WINDOW ASSEMBLY AND METHOD THEREFOR
20230160256 · 2023-05-25 ·

A window glazing assembly that can convert an existing or already-installed window, or be used to assemble new construction windows as a multi-pane or multi-glazed window unit, is provided herein. In particular, the glazing assembly includes an attachment assembly (e.g., peel-and-stick double-sided adhesive tape) and one or more glazing layers. Some embodiments further include a spacer assembly comprising a plurality of spacer bars that may be individually installed, e.g., one by one, around the perimeter of the window such as, to the window sash, window frame, or glass window pane, itself. The glazing layer(s) can then be secured or adhered to the spacer assembly, for example, around the perimeter thereof. Some embodiments may include additional or intermediate glazing layers, providing additional insulating airspaces and enhanced performance.

DAYLIGHTING DEVICE

A daylighting device of the present invention includes: a daylighting member including: a first light-transmitting base member; and a plurality of protruding, light-transmitting daylighting sections provided on a first face or a second face of the first light-transmitting base member; and a ventilation hole configured to enable a space on the first face to communicate with a space on the second face opposite from the first face.

WINDOW SYSTEM

A window system according to an aspect of the invention includes: a window frame; an inner window installed at an indoor side of the window frame; an outer window fixed to the window frame and spaced apart from the inner window with a predetermined distance at an outdoor side to form a hollow layer between the outer window and the inner window; an air-flowing opening formed between the outer window and the window frame to form a flow path in which air in the hollow layer flows or circulates; and an opening and closing device provided at one side of the inner window to open and close the inner window from the window frame. The outer window may include a tinted glass or a glass having a high absorption rate and a bracket for fixing the tinted glass to the window frame.

INFILL ELECTROCHROMIC WINDOWS

Various embodiments herein relate to methods, structures, tools, installation systems, etc. for retrofitting a new electrochromic window in a pre-existing window recess. In many cases, the new electrochromic window is installed parallel to a lite of a pre-existing window, with the resulting structure including the new electrochromic window, the pre-existing window, and a pocket that forms between them. Installation of a new electrochromic window in tandem with a pre-existing window results in many benefits including improved insulation (e.g., due to the presence of the additional air pocket(s) and lite(s)), improved climate control (e.g., due to the ability to control the amount of sunlight entering the building via the electrochromic window), and enhanced aes thetics.

Hollow core door with perimeter air flow
11255121 · 2022-02-22 ·

Hollow core door apparatus for preventing the build up of pressure in a room having a register through which air flows into the room and the door includes an inside door skin and an outside door skin, and the door skins includes openings through which air flows and a center panel between the skins and spaced part from the skins. The center panel has an outer perimeter greater than the inner perimeter of the openings. The center panel is spaced apart from the skins, and also from the adjacent stiles and rails. A chamber is formed about the panel and between the adjacent stiles and rails and the openings in the skins. Air flow from the room is through the opening in the inside skin into the chamber, around the outer periphery of the panel, and outwardly through the opening in the outside skin in a non-linear manner.

Electrostatic precipitator integrated with double-skin facade of building

An electrostatic precipitator integrated with a double-skin facade of a building, includes: an outer window installed at an outdoor side of the building; an outer upper opening and an outer lower opening installed at upper and lower portions, respectively, of the outer window for indoor ventilation; an inner window providing a hollow layer between the inner window and the outer window by being installed at a room side facing the outer window; an inner upper opening and an inner lower opening installed at upper and lower portions, respectively, of the inner window for ventilation; at least one discharge electrode charging particles introduced into the hollow layer through the outer lower opening by being installed in the hollow layer; and dust collecting electrodes precipitating charged particles by being installed in contact with the hollow layer.

Hollow core door with internal air flow and sliding panel
09719291 · 2017-08-01 ·

Hollow core door apparatus for preventing the build up of pressure in a room having a register through which air flows into the room and the door includes an inside door skin and an outer door skin, and the door skins includes openings through which air flows and panels disposed in the openings to define the amount of air flowing through the openings in the skins. The door also includes at least a single fixed panel and a movable panel, both of which panels include openings through which air flows when the openings in the panels are aligned and which air flow is restricted when the openings are misaligned. The inside and outside panels have peripheral openings defined between the openings in the skins and the panels disposed in the openings and which peripheral openings define areas at least as great as the area of the openings in the fixed and movable panels, and the openings in the fixed and movable panels are offset from the peripheral openings to provide for a non-linear flow of air through the door to prevent the build up of pressure in the room and to restrict the non-linear air flow through the door when the openings in the fixed and movable panels are misaligned. An embodiment combining a noxious gas absorbent material with the pressure build up prevention capability is also illustrated.
