A pet door system is provided including a casing configured to attach the pet door system to a building and a flexible door attached to the casing. In some embodiments, the door is segmented and comprises a plurality of interlocking segments that are rotatable with respect to each other. In some embodiments, the pet door system further includes a rotating cylinder attached to the flexible door and rotatably connected to the casing and a motor comprising a gear head, where the gear head is attached to the rotating cylinder, such that when the motor is activated, the gear head is rotatable in a first direction to wind the flexible door around the rotating cylinder. In some embodiments, the pet door system may be operated by a pet-worn collar and/or may be remotely controlled via a mobile device.

Roller door blades and roller doors

Roller doors made of flexible material have a number of uses, particularly for rapid access into cool stores. However, such doors require stiffening in the form of wind bars to prevent the doors blowing out in gusts of wind. The wind bars produce problems when rapidly closing a roller door, as the door blade of the roller door is rolled up onto a roller. And for doors in cool stores that are opened and closed hundreds of times a day, such problems are significant. The present roller door blade solves or minimizes the problems by fitting longitudinal spacer elements along the length of the door which act to provide space between adjacent layers of the door blade as it accumulates on the roller, allowing any wind bars of the door blade to be stowed on the roller without interfering or clashing with other wind bars.

A pet door having a casing and a door assembly contained within the casing, the door assembly having a plurality of rotatably interlocking segments such that the door assembly is rigid in a direction along an axis of rotation of the interlocking segments and flexible along a second axis perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the interlocking segments, and a plurality of end caps for preventing horizontal sliding of individual interlocking segments, the end caps having a first surface which engages the end of the interlocking segments and a recess surface spaced away from the end of the interlocking segment to allow free rotation of the interlocking segment not engaging the first surface of the end cap. The pet door further includes a magnet positioned in the end caps which are aligned with a corresponding magnet positioned along the sides of the casing member to individually position the interlocking segments in the casing.

Shutter slat

A slat for use in a rolling shutter is provided. The slat comprises a hooking track located at a first edge of a body and a receiving track located at a second edge of the body. Illustratively, the hooking track has a hook-shaped profile, and the receiving track comprises a lip member and a guard member defining a space adapted to receive therein an engaging track of an adjacent slat. The hooking track and the receiving track are designed to minimize the space required for the rolling shutter to be retracted around a spindle.

Reduced Motor Drive Shaft For Retractable Curtain Assembly

A curtain assembly includes: a pair of support brackets; a curtain; members arranged at each lateral side edge portion of the curtain and vertically spaced from one another; a pair of guides defining a space to be traversed by the curtain, the pair of guides having a narrower portion that prevents the edge portions of the curtain with the locking members from disengaging from the guides; a roller barrel assembly configured as a take up roller upon which the curtain is wound; and a respective reduced diameter shaft arranged between each end of the roller barrel assembly and a respective support bracket, each respective reduced diameter shaft configured as a take up roller that stores the lateral side edge portions of the curtain having the plurality of locking members.
