TRANSPARENT THERMOELECTRIC SELFPOWERED GLAZING
A glazing unit is disclosed. The glazing unit can include a first pane and an active device. The active device can be coupled to the first pane. The glazing unit can also include a thermoelectric film layer between the active device and the first pane. In one embodiment, the active device is an electrochromic device.
LOW HAZE SWITCHABLE WINDOW
A switchable window includes an electro-optical layer of or including an anisotropic gel of polymer stabilized highly chiral liquid crystal, for example, blue phase liquid crystal, encapsulated in, for example, a mesogenic polymer inclusive shell, that forms a self-assembled, three-dimensional photonic crystal that remains electro-optically switchable under a moderate applied voltage (e.g., electric field). The liquid crystal (LC) arrangement may be achieved via a polymer assembled blue phase liquid crystal system having a substantially continuous polymer structure case surrounding well-defined discrete bodies of liquid crystal material arranged in a cellular manner These assembled structures globally connect to form a matrix. This provides for reduction of angular birefringence of highly chiral LC systems, which advantageously reduces haze in applications such as switchable windows.
Electrically controllable privacy glazing with energy recapturing driver
A driver for an electrically dynamic structure may store and release energy during polarity cycling to improve the energy efficiency of operation. In some examples, the driver includes an energy storage element. In operation, the driver can charge an electrically controllable optically active material to a first operating voltage at a first polarity and subsequently discharge the optically active material during polarity reversal. The driver may store energy released from the optically active material during discharging and subsequently release the energy to charge the optically active material to a second operating voltage at a second polarity different than the first polarity.
TRANSPARENT PLATE
A transparent plate for a vehicle, provided with a first surface and a second surface, includes a light-shielding region and a light-transmitting region, in a planar view; and a light-shielding layer in the light-shielding region on the first surface side. A color of the light-shielding layer is a color other than black, and is a same or similar color to a color of an interior or an exterior of the vehicle or a same or similar color to a complementary color of the color of the interior or the exterior of the vehicle.
Coloured laminated glass
A decorative laminated glass includes a first glass sheet, a second glass sheet, and a colored lamination interlayer between the first glass sheet and the second glass sheet. A coating is positioned between the first glass sheet and the lamination interlayer, and in direct contact with the first glass sheet. The coating is formed by the series of the following layers, starting from the surface of the first glass sheet: optionally, a first stack of dielectric layers; a layer based on titanium oxide having a thickness of from 5 to 70 nm; and optionally, a second stack of dielectric layers.
Interlayer for laminated glass, laminated glass, production method for embossing roll, and production method for interlayer for laminated glass
The present invention aims to provide an interlayer film for a laminated glass having recesses in the shape of engraved lines on both surfaces to exhibit excellent deaeration properties in production of a laminated glass and suppressing formation of a moire pattern when unwound from a rolled body thereof. The present invention also aims to provide a laminated glass including the interlayer film for a laminated glass, a method for producing an embossing roll suitably used for production of the interlayer film for a laminated glass, and a method for producing the interlayer film for a laminated glass. The present invention relates to an interlayer film for a laminated glass, having a large number of recesses on both surfaces, the recesses each having a groove shape with a continuous bottom and being regularly adjacent and parallel to each other, the interlayer film having a glossiness on a surface with the large number of recesses measured in conformity with JIS Z 8741-1997 of higher than 3% or a haze value measured in conformity with JIS K 7105-1981 of 87% or lower.
Multiple-pane insulating glazing unit assembly, gas filling, and pressing machine
A system for producing multiple-pane insulating glazing units can include a conveyor and a plurality of laterally spaced-apart processing stations that are movable transversely relative to the longitudinally extending conveyor line. Each processing station may assemble glazing panes and a glazing spacer into a partially fabricated glazing unit, deliver insulative gas to a between-pane space between the glazing panes, and press the partially fabricated glazing unit together to seal the insulative gas in the between-pane space and form the multiple-pane insulating glazing unit. In some examples, each processing station moves to an alignment position with the conveyor to load glazing panes and a glazing spacer and then performs individual fabrication steps while offset from the conveyor. During this time, a different processing station can be aligned with the conveyor to unload a fabricated multiple-pane insulating glazing units and/or load unassembled glazing panes and a glazing spacer.
Window assembly
A window assembly includes a first pane of glass. The first pane of glass is chemically strengthened and exhibits a surface compressive stress of 400 MPa or more. A second pane of glass has a first major surface and a second major surface. The second major surface of the second pane of glass and a first major surface of the first pane of glass face each other. The second pane of glass includes 68-74 weight % SiO.sub.2, 2-6 weight % MgO, 1-10 weight % CaO, 12-16 weight % Na.sub.2O, 0-1 weight % K.sub.2O, 0.8-2.0 weight % Fe.sub.2O.sub.3 (total iron), 0-1.25 weight % TiO.sub.2, and 0-1.25 weight % CeO.sub.2. A polymeric interlayer is provided between the first pane of glass and the second pane of glass. The window assembly exhibits a direct solar transmittance of 55% or less and a total solar transmittance of 65% or less.
Glass fastening and sealing systems
A glass fastening system includes a glass portion, a support structure defining a recess, a first adhesive layer disposed on an exterior surface of the glass portion facing the recess in the support structure, a second adhesive layer disposed within the recess of the support structure, and a fastener having a first portion secured to the first adhesive layer and a second portion extending away from the first portion and into the second adhesive layer to secure the glass portion to the support structure.
Embedded wire LED laminate
The price and performance of LED lighting have reached the point where LEDs are displacing more traditional lighting. Even though LED lifetimes are as high as 50,000 hours, they are still being designed as replaceable bulbs rather than being integrated as a permanent part of the lighting assembly. The invention provides for a means of economically producing laminated glass with integrated LED lighting designed to last the life of the vehicle. This is done by embedding the LED die into the plastic layer used to bond the glass layers of a laminate together, forming an embedded wire circuit from thin high tensile strength Tungsten wire to power the LEDs and by utilizing machine tool technology originally developed to produce integrated circuit assemblies such as RFID ID cards, tickets and passports.
