DOOR COMPRISING VENTED STILE, AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME

A door includes a first skin, a second skin, two stiles, a core, and a gas permeable membrane. The first skin provides a first outer door surface. The second skin provides a second outer door surface. The two stiles are disposed at least partially between the first skin and the second skin. At least one stile defines a vent therein. The core comprises a foam material and is disposed between the first skin and the second skin. The gas permeable membrane, which is permeable to gas but not to the precursors of a foam material, is disposed on the at least one stile covering the vent. The gas permeable membrane contacts the foam material in the core, and separate the foam material in the core from the vent.

Doors and methods for reducing telegraphing therefor

This invention relates to doors having internal blocking components that reduce or eliminate telegraphing of the outer surface of the door facings. In particular, the invention relates to steel-edge steel doors that have internal solid wood blocks that have one or more integral cantilever beams formed into the blocks to interact with the adjoined oppositely arranged door facings in order to eliminate visually apparent door telegraphing. The blocks are modified to contain notches formed therein to form the cantilever beams.

A manufactured door is disclosed having at least one mid panel having a plurality of openings formed therethrough. In an example, two mid panels are assembled back-to-back with one another. The example manufactured door also includes a front outer panel assembled over the at least one mid panel to form a front door side. A back outer panel is assembled over the at least one mid panel to form a back door side. A door skin is laminated on the front outer panel and the back outer panel for a finished appearance to the manufactured door.

End cap arrangements for composite door assembly

A Dutch door assembly includes first and second door sections, each including a composite door member and an end cap. The composite door member includes a core member disposed between first and second end stiles, together defining a front door surface, a rear door surface, and an end surface, a front door skin secured to and substantially covering the front door surface, and a rear door skin secured to and substantially covering the rear door surface. The end cap includes a cover portion covering the end surface of the composite door member and a retention portion extending from the cover portion into engagement with the core member. The end cap of the first door section includes an abutment portion contoured to engage an abutment portion of the end cap of the second door section when the first and second door sections are in pivoted alignment.

DOORS COMPRISING GLAZED UNIT, AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME

A door include a first skin, a second skin, and a glazing unit. The first skin includes a first skin body portion, and a first flange portion extending inward from the first skin body portion. The first skin body portion has a first tip. A second skin includes a second skin body portion, and a second flange portion extending inward from the second skin body portion. The second skin body portion has a second tip. A glazing unit has an edge disposed adjacent to and between the first tip and the second tip. The first flange portion and the second flange portion provide an interlocking structure.

GLASS PANEL UNIT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GLASS PANEL UNIT

A glass panel unit includes: a first glass pane; a second glass pane disposed to face the first glass pane; a frame disposed between the first glass pane and the second glass pane and hermetically bonding a first peripheral portion of the first glass pane and a second peripheral portion of the second glass pane together, the first peripheral portion extending along an outer periphery of the first glass pane, the second peripheral portion extending along an outer periphery of the second glass pane; a vacuum space surrounded by the first glass pane, the second glass pane, and the frame; a gas adsorbent disposed in the vacuum space; and a thermal insulation layer disposed between the gas adsorbent and the second glass pane.
