A CORNER ASSEMBLY, A STRUCTURAL FRAME COMPRISING SAID CORNER ASSEMBLY, AND THE USE OF THE CORNER ASSEMBLY
20230051257 · 2023-02-16 ·

The present invention relates a corner assembly for use in a structural frame, said corner assembly comprises a housing defining a first and a second groove arranged at a predetermined angle to each other, and wherein the first groove is arranged for telescopically receiving and/or displacing a first elongated structural element and the second groove is arranged for telescopically receiving and/or displacing a second elongated structural element, and wherein the corner assembly further comprises a first and a second locking mechanisms arranged for independently of each other releasably fastening the first and second elongated structural element in the corresponding first and second groove. Since both the first and second locking mechanism is arranged for individually securing/fastening an elongated structural element to the corner assembly, the telescopic extension/displacement of each elongated structural element can be individually and independently adjusted irrespectively of the extension/displacement of the other elongated structural element.

The invention is a method, an apparatus and a kit of parts for assembling a universal frame with at least two jambs, a lintel and a sill. The resulting frame is suitable for any size of opening and any size of door, with the option to include single doors or double doors as well as side screens and/or side lights. The frame is typically assembled by cutting the jambs (and optionally the sill and/or lintel) to a selected size, attaching keys to each end of each jamb and inserting the keys into keying channels in the sill and lintel.

Window assembly

A window assembly includes a polymer (e.g., polyvinyl chloride, vinyl) window frame made and a glass unit carried by the window frame. The window frame includes a pair of jambs and an astragal that extends between and interconnects the pair of jambs. The jambs have a channel or slot sized to receive therethrough one or more end walls of the astragal so that at least a portion of said one or more end walls extend into a hollow cavity in the jambs that is in fluid communication with one or more weep holes of the window assembly. The one or more end walls of the astragal and channel or slot of the jambs define a flow path configured to channel water from the astragal, through the channel or slot in the jambs and into the hollow cavity such that said water exits the hollow cavity and the window assembly via the one or more weep holes.

Systems and methods for joining fenestration frame members

A corner joint for fenestration frames and the like includes first and second frame members having hollow interiors and ends joined in abutment. A corner key insert has legs inserted into the ends of the frame members. End portions of the legs engage the hollow interiors of the frame members forming adhesive cavities within the frame members and along the end portions of the corner key legs. Adhesive is disposed within the cavities to bond the corner key legs to the frame members, thereby creating a structural joint between the frame members. The corner key insert may include multiple injection ports for delivering adhesive to the cavities from a selected side of the frame assembly. Legs of the corner key may have notches formed therein to receive an internal wall of the frame members, and distal ends of the legs may include a flow barrier that contours along the notches.

A kit for a frame assembly is disclosed. The kit comprises a first frame member, a second frame member, and a first and second counterpart of a corner connector. The first and second counterparts are co-operatively configured for connecting to obtain the corner connector. The first counterpart, the second counterpart, the first frame member, and the second frame member are co-operatively configured for assembly to define the frame assembly. The first frame member is coupled to the second frame member via the obtained corner connector. The corner connector is connected to the first frame member along a first side of the first frame member and is also connected along a second side of the first frame member, and the corner connector is connected to the second frame member along a first side of the second frame member and is also connected along a second side of the second frame member.

T-JOINT CONNECTOR DEVICE

The present invention relates to a device to slidingly connect an end of a first element to a side of a second element, the second element side having a channel extending therealong, the device comprising a device body having a fixable end and a slidable end, the fixable end being adapted to be affixed to the end of the first element, and a protrusion extending from the slidable end of the device body, configured to engage with the channel of the second element and slide therealong, wherein the device body is formed in at least a first and second device body portion, the first and second device body portions being separable.

Assembled door frame

An assembled door frame is provided, including multiple of side frames spliced together, where every adjacent two of the side frames spliced at right angle are connected via a corner connector assembly. The corner connector assembly is arranged inside the every adjacent two of the side frames spliced at right angle. The corner connector assembly includes a corner connector and fixing bolts, and one of the every adjacent two of side frames spliced at right angle is fixed on the corner connector by the fixing bolts. In the embodiments, the side frames are spliced directly together through the respective corner connector assemblies each including the corner connector and the fixing bolts. On one hand, the corner connector and the fixing bolts are each disposed within the corresponding side frame, such that the original external structure of the side frames will not be changed after the side frames are spliced together, thereby reducing assembly errors of the door frame caused by using the connecting structure. On the other hand, the direct splicing of the side frames is achieved merely by two types of members that are the corner connector and the fixing bolts. So compared with the prior art, a welding process of the side frames is not required, the structure thereof is simple, and the mounting thereof is convenient.

Joint for a fenestration unit

A mitre joint for a metallic frame of a fenestration unit includes first and second frame members; a connector configured to locate the first and second frame members in relation to one another; and first and second fasteners configured to secure the first and second frame members to the connector. The connector has a first arm configured to extend within a hollow profile defined by the first frame member, and a second arm configured to extend within a hollow profile defined by the second frame member. A longitudinal axis of each of the first and second fasteners is configured to be parallel to a longitudinal axis of the respective connector arm. Each of the first and second fasteners is configured to engage the respective frame member when the respective connector arm extends within said frame member.
