PRESS-FIT WINDOW INSERT
A press-fit window insert configured to provide secondary protection to an existing window, having a carrier, a fin, and a fastening clip. The carrier includes a substantially rigid framework having channels within the framework configured to securely accept one or more attachments. The fin extends from the carrier and includes a substantially flexible blade extending from a base portion of the fin. The base portion of the fin is configured to interlock the fin to the carrier. The fastening clip includes a substantially rigid brim extending from a base portion of the fastening clip. The base portion of the fastening clip is configured to interlock the fastening clip to the carrier.
WEATHERSTRIP CARRIER THAT REMOVABLY ATTACHES TO FENESTRATION UNIT
A weatherstrip carrier of a replaceable weatherstrip system for a fenestration unit includes a weatherstrip support configured to hold a weatherstrip. The weatherstrip carrier also includes a coupling member that is attached to the weatherstrip support. The coupling member is configured to removably attach to the fenestration unit. The coupling member includes a spine, a first projection, and a second projection. The first and second projections project from the spine in a common direction. The coupling member is resiliently flexible for movement between a neutral position and a flexed position. The first and second projections are biased toward each other when the weatherstrip carrier is in the flexed position. The second projection is configured to be removably received within the fenestration unit, with the weatherstrip carrier in the flexed position, and with the first and second projections cooperatively compressing against the fenestration unit to retain the weatherstrip carrier thereon.
DOOR ASSEMBLY
A door assembly and a frame member for a door assembly. The door assembly may include at least one door panel and a door frame having a plurality of frame members including a header and a pair of side jambs. The invention may also be considered a frame member including a storage compartment. The frame member may include a core; and a top piece adjoining the core to form a structural member. The core and the top piece may be a composite of cellulosic material and at least one other material. The top piece may be a two-piece top piece and may include hollow cavities. Also disclosed are door jamb frame members and mullion frame members.
DOOR FRAME AND THRESHOLD ASSEMBLY
A door frame and threshold assembly, comprising a reservoir tube, including a first top surface comprising at least one inlet weep hole, a first rear surface, a first bottom surface, and a first front surface comprising at least one outlet weep hole, an interior sill portion, including a second top surface, a third top angled elevationally downward in a first direction, an exterior sill portion, including a fourth top surface angled elevationally downward in the first direction, a second rear surface engaged with the reservoir tube and spaced apart from the interior sill portion, and a third bottom surface, and a sill pan operatively arranged under and spaced apart from at least one of the first bottom surface and the third bottom surface, wherein the sill pan forms a conduit in fluid communication with the outlet weep hole.
SECURITY FEATURES FOR A SLIDING DOOR SYSTEM
A sliding door system having one or more sliding doors, door frames (e.g., static frames of different sizes for different wall thicknesses or adjustable frames that can be used to fit different wall thicknesses), sliding door hardware (e.g., tracks, wheels, soft closers, stops, or the like), header, door receiver, a plurality of seals, or the like. The sliding door system utilizes improvements to the components in order to provide security features, such as electromagnetic (EMC—EMI/RFI) shielding, sound resistance, blast resistance, forced entry and/or ballistic resistance, privacy features, light reduction, fire and/or smoke resistance, or the like to the sliding door system. In particular, the sliding door system allows for the use of the security features with the static or adjustable door frames described herein.
FLOOD SEAL ARRANGEMENT
A kit of parts for flood-proofing a door, including: a resilient seal member including a main body and a head; a non-resilient mounting member for securing the seal member to a door frame, the mounting member defining a support surface configured to receive the seal member and defining a mounting surface locatable against the door frame, wherein a channel is formed in the support surface, the head of the seal member insertable into the channel to mate the seal member and the mounting member.
FENESTRATION SYSTEM WITH ACTUATABLE SEALING DEVICE, AND RELATED DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
A fenestration system may comprise a closure element, such as a door or window. The closure element is movable relative to a frame between open and closed positions. The frame surrounds a fenestration opening, such as a doorway. The fenestration system may also comprise a carrier mounted to the closure element and movable relative to the closure element between extended and retracted positions. A weather strip is attached to the carrier and arranged to contact the frame in the extended position of the carrier. One or more retraction magnets may be arranged to exert a first magnetic force on the carrier to move the carrier into the retracted position in the open position of the closure element. One or more extension magnets may be arranged to exert a second magnetic force on the carrier to move the carrier into the extended position in the closed position of the closure element.
INSTALLATION STRUCTURE OF ELASTIC GASKET ATTACHED AND INSTALLED AS SEALING MEMBER TO GLASS-SUPPORTING INSULATION BRACKET IN SLIDING WINDOW HAVING TWO-SIDE SUPPORTING FRAME WINDOW CHASSIS
The present invention relates to an installation structure of an elastic gasket attached and installed as a sealing member to a moving window glass supporting insulation bracket in a sliding window having a two-sided supporting frame window chassis, and more specifically, it relates to an installation structure of a sealing member (e.g. an elastic gasket) that is installed to provide a sealing function between a glass supporting insulation bracket that directly supports a glass panel of the moving window from the top or bottom and a window frame provided with a sliding rail, when opening and closing the sliding window having only two-sided supporting frame that support both sides of the glass window constituting the sliding window.
WINDOW OR DOOR HAVING AN ACTIVELY PRESSING SEAL AND METHOD FOR CLOSING SAID WINDOW OR DOOR
A window or door includes a fixed frame with a first sash arranged displaceable thereon. A seal is arranged on the fixed frame, the sealing lip of which can be moved or pivoted and pressed onto the front or rear of the first sash. The moving process can be carried out by at least one first trigger element or by a plurality of trigger elements. The first trigger element or the trigger elements can be actuated by a first projection or a plurality of projections. A first wedge seal can be provided between the first sash and the fixed frame, which is preferably wedge-shaped both in the main plane of the frame and perpendicular to the main plane of the frame. Between two sashes, in the region of the central break, L-shaped seals can be provided which engage one behind the other in the closed state of the two sashes.
