11193325 · 2021-12-07 · ·

A frame for a traffic door having a leading edge, trailing edge, top edge, and bottom edge. The frame includes a trailing edge frame member having first and second ends and configured to extend along the trailing edge of the traffic door. The trailing edge frame member is a monolithic body having a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion extends between the first and second ends in a continuous and linear manner. The trailing edge frame member further includes a first cutout from the second portion of the trailing edge frame member adjacent the first end and a second cutout from the second portion of the trailing edge frame member adjacent the second end to define a central tab. A traffic door having such a frame is disclosed. A method of forming a traffic door with such a frame is also disclosed.

Audio/video device with viewer

An audio/video (A/V) device may include or accommodate a viewer through a barrier. For example, an A/V device may include a first component for installation on an exterior surface of a door, a second component for installation on an interior surface of the door, a viewer that extends through an opening in the door, and a flexible connector that electrically couples the first component and the second component. In some instances, the first component may include an opening for the viewer, a camera, and an input device in substantial vertical alignment. The A/V device may further include a shutter that moves between a first position, in which the shutter is proximate to the viewer, and a second position, in which the shutter is not proximate the viewer. Additionally, the A/V device may include rings interposed between each of the first and second components and the door.

Door Viewport With Cross-Door Locking Bar
20220145677 · 2022-05-12 ·

The door viewport with cross-door locking bar laterally spans the door frame with a viewport exterior lip on the door and an interior face plate near an interior of the door forming, in one instance, a mid-bar capture channel. Alternatively, the viewport has an interior extension coacting with a complementary interlocking element on the cross-bar's midpoint. Either construct holds the cross-door locking bar substantially at its mid-point. Cross-bar terminal end mounts removably attach the cross-bar to the door frame. One type of mount is an L-bracket. Another type of mount is a controllable transverse extension member forcing a door frame plate against the door frame. A user-controlled extension means forces the cross-door locking bar away from the door frame plate, with either a screw drive system or a grooved rod with spring loaded lever control.

High Security Two-Way Virtual Cross-Barrier Observation and Communication Device
20220132073 · 2022-04-28 ·

A high security two-way virtual cross-barrier observation and communication device has a mounting frame with a hardened core, a pair of digital displays, and a pair of cameras. The mounting frame may correspond to a typical interior door of a building or a relevant component of a vehicle, aircraft, or other relevant application. The hardened core is bullet-resistant and fire-resistant to protect occupants of a protected space from harm. The digital displays and cameras are positioned on opposing sides of the mounting frame, each camera transmitting a live video feed to the opposing display, creating the appearance of a window while protecting occupants. The digital displays may be used to display any desired information. An emergency protocol may be activated to communicate with emergency services. A plurality of laminate layers bond and encapsulate the displays and cameras to the hardened core, forming a rugged, self-contained unit with no moving parts.
