EXTENDABLE / RETRACTABLE LADDER
An extendable/retractable ladder assembly includes a first stile and a second stile and a plurality of rungs extending therebetween. Each stile may comprise a plurality of columns disposed in a nested arrangement for relative axial movement in a telescopic fashion. A connector assembly connects the rungs to respective columns in the first and second stiles. The ladder has improved manufacturability since connector assemblies may be assembled before connecting the rungs to respective columns. The standing surface of the rungs may be angled such that it is rotated towards horizontal when the ladder assembly is leaned against a wall. A latch assembly may be used to selectively lock relative axial movement between adjacent columns. The latch assembly includes a locking pin assembly comprised of a central post and an outer metal sleeve. An air damper may also be used to control airflow through the columns.
SAFETY LADDER
A safety ladder for mounting between a support surface and a ground surface includes two support assemblies and parallel step members pivoted between the support assemblies. Each support assembly includes first and second support rods each having upper and lower ends. The upper ends of the first support rods of the support assemblies are configured to be pivoted to the support surface. The safety ladder is movable between a use position, in which the lower ends of the first and second support rods of the support assemblies are adapted to simultaneously contact the ground surface, and a storage position, in which the first and second support rods stand substantially perpendicular relative to the ground surface.
Ladder
A ladder that enables unwanted accidents to be avoided by means of a simplified structure and mechanism, said ladder comprising: a main structure (10) comprising stringers (11), rungs (12) and an upper platform (13); and a support leg (20) in the shape of a tube (22) pivotally connected to the upper platform (13). The upper platform comprises a top face, two side faces, a front face, and a rear face, wherein said side faces have connection means to a connector of the support leg (20). In addition, the rear face has a slot (24) whose height is less than the diameter of the tube (22).
Convertible ramp system and tactical vehicle incorporating a convertible ramp system
A convertible ramp system facilitates transfer of personnel between spaced elevations. The ramp system includes a deck assembly, a convertible main ramp, and a convertible extension ramp. The convertible main ramp has a proximal end hinged to the deck assembly and a distal end adapted for being mechanically lifted and lowered relative to the deck assembly. Both the main ramp and the extension ramp incorporates an adjustable frame assembly and a series of simultaneously articulating foot treads carried by the frame assembly. The ramps are selectively convertible between a stairway configuration and a substantially flat and continuous runway configuration.
VERTICALLY ORIENTATED LADDER APPARATUS FOR ALLOWING A CLIMBER TO ADOPT AN IMPROVED CLIMBING STANCE IN USE
A vertically orientated ladder apparatus allowing a climber to adopt an improved climbing stance wherein the climber's arms are poised economically in front of the climber within the climbing passage; the climber's legs are spread for the lateral stability of the climber so as to reduce the tendency of the climber falling sideways; and the climber is substantially upright such that the climber's centre of gravity lies substantially between the opposing steps (11) so as to allow the climber to release the climber's grip on the hand rails (14) while remaining balanced and supported by the legs of the climber. Opposing steps (11) are level or staggered. Embodiments include three or four stiles (12, 15).
ESCAPE DOOR ASSEMBLY FOR STORM SHELTER
A storm shelter escape door assembly includes a frame and a door hinged to the frame. The frame includes three inner sidewalls, an open end, and a horizontal attachment plate extending outwardly from upper edges of the inner sidewalls. The door has at least three outer sidewalls joined by a door face. The door is hinged to the frame adjacent the open end and below the horizontal attachment plate so the door is openable in an inward direction away from the horizontal attachment plate. When the door is in a closed position, the door face angles downwardly toward the open end to cause water to run off the door.
Security ladder for a pool
A safety ladder for a pool includes a movable ladder portion that can be moved between an accessible position and an inaccessible position. The movable ladder portion is disposed substantially outside of the pool and provides a series of steps that can be climbed vertically for entry into the pool when it is located in the accessible position. In the inaccessible position, the movable ladder portion is moved such that the steps can no longer be climbed and access to the pool is prevented. Such safety ladder assemblies are provided primarily to prevent children and other at risk individuals from entering an unattended pool. A dampening member is provided such that the force necessary to move the movable ladder portion is regulated to prevent a dangerous accumulation of moment and limit a risk of injury through harmful contact therewith.
LADDER ASSEMBLY
A ladder assembly for use with a tree or other vertical support includes a first tube and a second tube that is nestable within the first tube. The second tube includes at least one movable step that is movable to one end of the tube to enable almost full insertion of the second tube into the first tube for compact storage and, when the tubes are separated from one another, the movable step is movable to the other end of the tube to provide an ideal step position for a climber. The ladder assembly achieves the same functionality as a telescoping pole but with fewer tube sections because the tubes are separable.
LADDER, STEP-PORTION AND SYSTEM FOR USING IN THE PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING A ROTOR BLADE
A ladder for using in the process of manufacturing a rotor blade by leaning the ladder against the rotor blade being manufactured and climbing thereon is provided, including two rails and a plurality of rungs, wherein the rails include a solid structure elastically bendable by the weight of a person climbing thereon in order to align a bending radius of the rails, resulting from an elastic bending of the rails, to an outer radius of the rotor blade being manufactured. A step-portion for the inventive ladder and a system including the inventive ladder is also provided.
Telescopic ladder assembly
A telescopically extendable and collapsible ladder assembly includes multiple collapsible ladder sections provided with an air damper at the bottom end of tubular stile members. The air dampers provide retardation of gravity induced velocity of the collapsible ladder sections upon collapse of the ladder sections. Multiple air dampers include a throttle valve securing device, for cooperating with a throttle valve of the air damper when the collapsible ladder section is in the collapsed position, to secure the throttle valve in its throttle position and/or an obturator device. The obturator device includes a first obturator member and a second obturator member where the first obturator member and the second obturator member are configured to, when the collapsible ladder section is in the collapsed position, in combination provide additional throttling.
