An air/water separator including a first hollow member configured to receive a flow including an air and water mixture and a second hollow member configured to receive the flow from the first hollow member. An exit of the first hollow member extends into an opening of the second hollow member such that the exit of the first hollow member axially overlaps the opening of the second hollow member, thereby creating a first flow path from the interior of the first hollow member to the outside of the second hollow member including two turns about the exit of the first hollow member and opening of the second hollow member, and a second flow path from the first hollow member through the second hollow member.

An earth boring bit with sealed cutter bearings has a dual function pressure compensator for a lubricant reservoir. The earth boring bit has a bit body and downwardly extending legs which include bearing shafts that extend inward and downward for mounting rotary cutters, and seals are provided between the bearing shafts and the cutters. Lubricant flow passages extend from an interior cavity of the bit body, through the legs and the bearing shafts, and into the spaces located between the bearing shafts and the cutters. The pressure compensator extends between the cavity and the flow passages and has a movable piston. The compensator may be operated in a sealed lubricant system mode when the piston is locked in place or an air flow bypass mode by removing a locking member from securing the piston in place prior to securing the earth boring bit to a drill string.

Floating Plug Anti-Leak
A roller cone drill bit includes a pressure equalization bore defined within the roller cone drill bit that includes a lubricant chamber portion and an open portion. The drill bit also includes a lubricant passage defined within the drill bit and fluidically coupled to a first end of the lubricant chamber portion. Additionally, the roller cone drill bit includes a floating plug positioned within the pressure equalization bore between the lubricant chamber portion and the open portion. The floating plug is slidable along the pressure equalization bore and configured to seal the lubricant chamber portion from the open portion. Moreover, the roller cone drill bit includes a stop positioned at least partially within the pressure equalization bore or the lubricant passage to restrain the floating plug from sliding into the lubricant passage through the first end of the lubricant chamber portion.
