DRILLING RIG WITH A TOP DRIVE SYSTEM OPERABLE IN A DRILLING MODE AND A TRIPPING MODE
In combination a drilling mast and a top drive system for a drilling rig having a drill floor with a well center. The drilling mast has a U-shaped horizontal cross section with a left-hand mast wall, a rear mast wall, and a right-hand mast wall, and with an open front side. Each of the mast walls is provided with one or more vertical rails that are, in use of the drilling rig, parallel to a vertical firing line that extends through the well center. The top drive system comprises a traveling carriage and a top drive unit supported by said carriage. A left-hand fingerboard device is mounted to the left-hand mast wall and a right-hand side fingerboard device is mounted to the right-hand mast wall.
Multifunction handler for handling drilling elements in a drilling rig, drilling rig and related methods for handling drilling elements
A multifunction handler for handling drilling elements in a drilling rig includes a slide, which has a guide system and a lifting system. The slide is adapted to slide along a first axis parallel to the longitudinal extension of a drilling rig mast. An articulated arm, a robotic apparatus, and a handling head are adapted to seize, hold and release a drilling element. The articulated arm is fixed at a first end to the slide. A first end of the robotic apparatus is fixed to the second end of the articulated arm. The articulated arm allows moving the robotic apparatus along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. The handling head connects to the second end of the robotic apparatus. The robotic apparatus moves the handling head with at least three degrees of freedom and the handler moves the handling head with at least five degrees of freedom.
LIFT FRAME STORAGE AND DEPLOYMENT
Techniques and systems to store and deploy a lift frame of an offshore vessel. A device may include a member arm comprising a locking feature configured to couple the member arm to a lift frame of the offshore vessel. The device may also include a base configured to be coupled to a drill floor of the offshore vessel, wherein the base comprises a joint configured to allow for rotation of the member arm and the lift frame from a storage position having a first angle between the member arm and the drill floor and a deployment position having a second angle between the member arm and the drill floor.
HYDRAULIC LIFT AND WALKING SYSTEM FOR CATWALK MACHINE
A locking device includes an outer portion and an inner portion. The outer portion has a bore formed at least partially axially therethrough and a channel formed laterally therethrough. The inner portion is positioned at least partially within the bore. A first link is positioned at least partially outside of the outer portion and coupled to the inner portion through the channel. A second link is coupled to the outer portion. A pin is coupled to the first link and the second link. The locking device is in an unlocked state when the inner portion is fully positioned within the bore, and the locking device is in a locked state when an end of the inner portion extends axially out of the bore.
Catwalk fluid and ground protection recovery system
A removable fluid capturing system adapted for installation onto a support structure/frame located under an oil rig catwalk, said fluid capturing system comprising: an elongated trough adapted for insertion under an aperture located on said catwalk; means to secure said trough to structure of the catwalk wherein, upon use, the system is capable of collected fluid seeping from removed pipes through said aperture and directing the fluid to a catchment basin located at a position proximate said second end of the trough. Also disclosed are methods using such system.

GEOTECHNICAL RIG SYSTEMS AND METHODS
This invention relates generally to geotechnical rig systems and methods. In one embodiment, a cone penetration testing system includes, but is not limited to, a frame; at least one rotatable reel; at least one movable roller; and at least one sensor, wherein the at least one movable roller is configured to adjust a bend radius of at least one tube coiled about the at least one rotatable reel based at least partly on data received from the at least one sensor.
Robotic apparatus for performing drill floor operations
A robotic apparatus (1) for performing drill floor operations comprises a support arrangement (2) and at least one manipulator arm (6). The at least one manipulator arm (6) is configured to carry an end effector (11) configured to manipulate one or more of tubing, tools and/or equipment on a drill floor (d) or pipe deck of an oil and gas rig in order to perform a given drill floor operation.
