MULTIPLE SYSTEM PORTS USING A TIME DELAY VALVE
A multi-functional well completion apparatus and method of operation thereof that offers the ability, in a single trip and with limited running tool manipulation, to perform downhole completion operations, such as gravel pack operations or sand control frac or other fluid stimulation operations is described. The well completion tool has multiple functions or operational positions by using a self-closing time delay valve without the need of service tools, thereby saving rig time, reducing operating costs and operational risks associated with tripping service tools into and out of a wellbore.
Cement plug and bridge plug assembly and method
A plug assembly for a cementing operation in a well includes a bottom wiper plug configured to land in or near the toe of a well and receive a cement slurry therethrough, a top wiper plug releasably coupled to the bottom wiper plug and configured to land on the bottom wiper plug after the cement slurry is received through the bottom wiper plug, a bridge plug coupled to the top wiper plug and configured to move toward the bottom wiper plug with the top wiper plug after the bottom wiper plug is landed in or near the toe of the well, and a sensor sub coupled to the bridge plug and configured to detect a gate in the well.
Gas driven wireline release tool
According to some embodiments, systems and methods of releasing a wireline from a tool string in a well are presented. For example, a wireline release tool may include a first housing portion and a second housing portion. The first housing portion may have a closed end, an open end, and a chamber therebetween, and the second housing portion may be shearably attached to close the open end of the first housing portion. A gas generator may be disposed in the chamber and may be capable of generating gas pressure in the chamber sufficient to overcome a pressure differential between the chamber and the external wellbore environment and to force the second housing portion from an initial position to a release position. One of the housing portions may be configured for attachment to a wireline, while the other of the housing portions may be configured for attachment to a tool string.
Plug setting tool
An apparatus for setting a plug in a borehole penetrating a subsurface formation includes a tool mandrel defining a chamber having a port and a power charge disposed in the chamber for emitting a pressurized gas upon ignition. The apparatus also includes an outer sleeve at least partially surrounding the tool mandrel and defining an annulus between the outer sleeve and the tool mandrel where the annulus is in communication with the port. The apparatus further includes a piston disposed in the annulus and having an outer surface facing uphole within the annulus, the piston being in mechanical communication with a setting sleeve of the plug, wherein displacement of the setting sleeve causes setting of a slip and a seal of the plug.
Frac plug system with integrated setting tool
A frac plug system, downhole tool and method of securing a frac plug system in a wellbore in a formation. A mandrel includes a first end and a second end. A setting assembly is coupled to the mandrel at the first end, and an anchor is arranged at the second end of the mandrel and receptive to the setting assembly. The anchor is settable to engage the wellbore. A bottom sub is arranged at the second end of the mandrel and includes a first member movable relative to the mandrel. A gas generates a pressure to shift the first member along the mandrel to move the anchor against the setting assembly, securing the setting assembly in the wellbore via radial deployment of the anchor. The mandrel is separated from the bottom sub to leave the setting assembly and the anchor in the wellbore.
Frac plug system with integrated setting tool
A frac plug system downhole tool and method of securing a frac plug system in a wellbore. A mandrel extending from a first end to a second end. A setting assembly is on the first end of the mandrel and is movable along the mandrel. An anchor is at the second end of the mandrel and is expandable to engage the wellbore. A gas generates a pressure to move the setting assembly along the mandrel to expand the anchor at the second end of the mandrel.
Impact Resistant Material in Setting Tool
A setting tool comprising a first and a second cylindrical body with inner bores, a third cylindrical body engaged to the first cylindrical body and having an inner cavity with an axial opening adapted to accept a power charge and a having a distal end with a shoulder engaged with the second cylindrical body, a fourth cylindrical body coupled to the third cylindrical body and having a transverse slot, a fifth cylindrical body fixed to the second cylindrical body and having an inner bore wherein the fourth cylindrical body is engaged therewith and further having a radial face within the second cylindrical body, a disc shaped impact dampening material with a hollow center having the fourth cylindrical body is located there through and coupled to the radial face of the fifth cylindrical body, and a sixth cylindrical body coupled to the fifth cylindrical body and having a transverse slot.
ACTUATING A DOWNHOLE DEVICE WITH A REACTIVE METAL
Methods for actuating a downhole device in a wellbore. An example of the method is positioning a downhole device in a wellbore, the downhole device comprising a reactive metal and a reaction-inducing fluid; wherein the reaction-inducing fluid is isolated from the reactive metal. The method further includes removing the isolation of the reactive metal such that it reacts with the reaction-inducing fluid to generate a hydrogen gas, and actuating the downhole device with the hydrogen gas.
METHODS TO MONITOR A METALLIC SEALANT DEPLOYED IN A WELLBORE, METHODS TO MONITOR FLUID DISPLACEMENT, AND DOWNHOLE METALLIC SEALANT MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS
The disclosed embodiments include methods to monitor expansion of a metallic sealant deployed in a wellbore, methods to monitor downhole fluid displacement, and downhole metallic sealant measurement systems. The method to monitor expansion of a downhole metallic sealant includes deploying a metallic sealant deployed along a section of a wellbore. The method also includes exposing the metallic sealant to a reacting fluid to initiate a galvanic reaction. The method further includes measuring a change in temperature caused by the galvanic reaction.
