A workstring apparatus for creating an annular seal in a wellbore is described. Workstring comprises at least one packer apparatus comprising a body portion and an elastomeric packer element which is deformable into an outwardly deployed condition to deform wellbore casing. A fluid accumulator is provided to hold fluid to actuate at least one hydraulic cylinder of the packer apparatus. An electrically powered pump is operable to pump fluid from accumulator into the hydraulic cylinders of packer apparatus to deform the elastomeric packer element outwardly. A wireline connects the workstring to the surface and provides electrical power to the workstring. Wireline may be an electrical feed such as a composite rod or e-coil.

System and method for electrical control of downhole well tools

A system for use with a subterranean well can include a system controller with a computer, a power supply and at least one current sensor, multiple downhole well tools, each of the downhole well tools including a motor and a member displaceable by the motor; and an umbilical connected between the system controller and the downhole well tools, at least one conductor of the umbilical being connected to the motor of each of the downhole well tools. A downhole well tool example can include an actuator assembly configured to displace a member of the downhole well tool, the actuator assembly including a motor, a load yoke displaceable by the motor, and an elongated position indicator bar having at least one profile formed thereon. Friction between the load yoke and the position indicator bar varies as the load yoke displaces relative to the position indicator bar.

The present invention relates to a wireline expansion tool for setting of a completion tubular component such as a straddle, a liner, a patch or a liner hanger, the wireline expansion tool having an axial extension and comprising an electric motor connectable with and powered through a wireline, an axial force generator driven directly or indirectly by the electric motor for providing a movement along the axial extension, a radial expansion tool section connected with the axial force generator, and a completion tubular component, arranged at least partly around at least part of the radial expansion tool section for expanding at least part of the completion tubular component, wherein the radial expansion tool section comprises a first element movable along the axial extension by the axial force generator and a support structure connected with the first element, the support structure supporting the completion tubular component during expansion, and the first element being connected with the support structure for moving the support structure at least partly radially outwards for simultaneous expanding the completion tubular component. The invention also relates to a downhole tool string comprising the wireline expansion tool and a driving unit, such as a downhole tractor, for propelling the wireline expansion tool forward in the well.

Tubing tester valve and associated methods

A valve assembly can include a flow passage extending between an uphole end and a downhole end of the valve assembly, a flapper that pivots between an open position and a closed position, and a pump operable to pivot the flapper, the pump being positioned between the flapper and the downhole end. A method of testing a completion tubing string can include increasing pressure in the completion tubing string while a closure member of a valve assembly is in a closed position, thereby testing a pressure integrity of the completion tubing string on an uphole side of the closure member, and transmitting a pressure signal via a flow passage to a pressure sensor of the valve assembly, thereby causing the closure member to displace to an open position, the pressure sensor being connected to an electronic circuit positioned on a downhole side of the closure member.

Progressive cavity pump and methods for using the same

A device is provided for pumping fluid from a wellbore up to surface. The device includes a stator unit, a rotor unit run within the stator unit on a rod string, the rotor unit and the stator unit engaging with one another to form an annular space therebetween for passage of fluid. An upstream check valve on the rod string uphole of the rotor unit is moveable from an open position in which fluid is passable through the annular space, and a closed position in which fluid passage through the annular space is prevented. A hollow rod section extends through the rod string in fluid communication with the annular space both downstream and upstream of the upstream check valve, for entry of fluid into a downhole end of the hollow rod section, passage of fluid upstream therefrom and exit of fluids from an uphole end of the hollow rod section, back into the annular space. A method is further provided for pumping fluid from a wellbore after shutdown.
