SURFACE SAFETY VALVE
A surface safety valve for a well system includes a main valve body with a central bore through it. The main valve body has a centerline axis and is configured to be connected at a surface location above a surface of the Earth to a surface assembly of the well system and to receive through the central bore a flow of wellbore fluid from a subterranean zone conveyed by a production tubing. A gate is positioned within the main valve body and is configured to move from an open position in which the gate does not block flow of wellbore fluid through the central bore to a closed position in which the gate blocks flow of wellbore fluid through the central bore. The gate travels from the open position to the closed position along a gate movement axis perpendicular to the centerline bore axis. The gate includes a gate front end positioned on a first side of the centerline bore axis and a gate back end positioned on a second side of the centerline bore axis opposite the first side. The surface safety valve also includes an actuator positioned on the first side of the centerline bore axis. The actuator is configured to selectively push the gate towards the open position. The safety valve also includes a spring enclosed within the main valve body and positioned on the second side of the centerline bore axis. The spring is connected to the gate back end and is configured to bias the gate towards the closed position.
Closing unit system for a blowout preventer
A closing unit system for a blowout preventer (BOP) stack includes a first fluid reservoir, a first power source, a first pump system fluidly coupled to the first fluid reservoir and electrically coupled to the first power source, and a valve manifold fluidly coupled to the first pump system via a closing unit hose assembly and configured to couple to the BOP stack. The closing unit system also includes one or more processors that are configured to receive an input indicative of an instruction to adjust an actuator associated with the BOP stack, and instruct the first power source to provide power to the first pump system to cause the first pump system to pump a fluid from the first fluid reservoir to the valve manifold in response to the input.
Stuffing box for vertical pumps
A stuffing box for sealing a top opening of a vertical pump, including: a housing with a vertical tube for rotatably disposing a shaft of the vertical pump, an annular bearing that: divides the vertical tube in a lower half and an upper half, and fills an annular space between an inner wall of the vertical tube and the shaft, such that as less fluid as possible passes from the lower half through the annular bearing to the upper half, an outlet pipe for discharging the fluid passing through the annular bearing.
ISOLATION FLANGE ASSEMBLY
An isolation flange assembly including a body including a receptacle disposed therein, and a first seal assembly disposed in the receptacle of the body, wherein the first seal assembly is configured to sealingly engage an inner surface of the receptacle of the body and an outer surface of a tubular member extending into the receptacle of the body, wherein the first seal assembly includes an annular radially outer seal, and an annular radially inner seal in engagement with the outer seal.

Casing Attachment System for Attenuating Annular Pressure Buildup
A method of attenuating annular pressure buildup within a wellbore. The method includes running first and second strings of casing into a wellbore, wherein the first string of casing surrounds an upper portion of the second string of casing forming an annular region. The method also includes providing a packing of compressible material within the annular region. The compressible material comprises carbonaceous particles. The particles may reside within a porous sleeve or filter, or they may be packed together in a matrix using a cross-linked polymer or binder. The packing is fixed at a selected depth within the annular region, and is designed so that the compressible material absorbs pressure in response to thermal expansion of wellbore fluids during the production of hydrocarbon fluids from the wellbore. The method further includes placing a wellhead over the wellbore, thereby forming a trapped annulus in the wellbore over the annular region.
