A buckle prevention ring assembly for use within a conduit, such as casing, having at least one buckle prevention ring may be provided. The buckle prevention ring may be bonded and may provide a fluid and gas tight seal to prevent fluid and gas from leaking out of the casing in a downhole environment.

Downhole tool with backup ring assembly

A downhole tool suitable for use in a wellbore, the tool having a chassis or mandrel, with a center element and a plurality of support elements disposed therearound. The downhole tool also includes a first fingered member, and a second fingered member. In a run-in configuration, the first fingered member has a slot axially aligned with a midpoint of a finger of the second fingered member.

Downhole expandable metal tubular

The present invention relates to a downhole expandable metal tubular having an axial extension, to be expanded in a well downhole to abut against an inner face of a casing or a borehole, comprising a first section having a first outer diameter, two circumferential projections having a second outer diameter which is larger than the first outer diameter, a second section arranged between the two projections, each projection having an inclined face tapering from the second outer diameter towards the second section, wherein the second section has a third outer diameter which is smaller than the first outer diameter in an unexpanded condition, and a sealing element is arranged between the projections opposite the second section, so that during expansion the second section bulges more radially outwards than the first section, forcing the sealing element radially outwards. Furthermore, the present invention relates to an annular barrier, a downhole completion and a sealing expansion method.

Mechanical casing annulus packer

A casing packer seal arrangement includes a sliding casing packer seal assembly arranged for being set by axial compression to expand against a surrounding casing pipe, the casing packer seal assembly being compressed and sled along a cylindrical mandrel. The casing packer seal assembly includes at least one packer element ring having mutually opposite, axially outward facing radially inner and outer plane ring portions; first and second conical inner rings having an axially inward directed plane ring face abutting the packer element end rings' inner plane ring portions in their expanded state; first and second expanding rings each having a conical ramp face for climbing, thus expanding, on said conical inner rings, the first and second expanding rings each having a plane, radially outer ring face for engaging, expanding with and supporting the packer element end ring's axially outward facing plane ring portions, so that when expanded, preventing extrusion of the so expanded packer element end ring in an annulus gap between the expanding rings and the surrounding casing pipe.

EXPANDABLE METAL AS BACKUP FOR ELASTOMERIC ELEMENTS

Provided is a sealing tool, a method for sealing an annulus within a wellbore, and a well system. The sealing tool, in at least one aspect, includes a sealing assembly positioned about a mandrel. In at least one aspect, the sealing assembly includes one or more elastomeric sealing elements having a width (W.sub.SE), the one or more elastomeric sealing elements operable to move between a radially relaxed state and a radially expanded state. In at least this aspect, the sealing assembly includes a pair of expandable metal features straddling the one or more elastomeric sealing elements, each of the pair of expandable metal features comprising a metal configured to expand in response to hydrolysis and having a width (W.sub.EM), and further wherein the width (WSE) is at least three times the width (W.sub.EM).

SINGLE SLIP FRAC TOOL

A frac plug has a bottom shoe, a single slip ring supported by the bottom shoe, a slip wedge positioned above the slip ring and axially movable relative to the slip wedge, a radially outwardly expandable sealing element supported by the slip wedge and a deformable backup shoe fixed to the sealing element. The deformable backup shoe has a cap covering at least a portion of a top surface of the sealing element and an outer leg extending along at least a portion of an outer surface of the sealing element. A ball seat is insertable into the radially outwardly expandable sealing element.

Frac Plug with Retention Mechanism

A frac plug is provided. The frac plug includes a plug body, a sealing element, and a slip. The plug body includes a first sub and a second sub. The first sub includes a first composite material outer sleeve, and a first metal inner core engaged with and structurally supporting the first composite material outer sleeve. The second sub includes a second composite material outer sleeve, and a second metal inner core engaged with and structurally supporting the second composite material outer sleeve. The sealing element is circumferentially disposed about the first sub and, when actuated, seals an annulus between the frac plug and a tubular section. The slip is disposed between the first sub and the second sub and, when actuated, engages the tubular section.
