Toe valve having integral valve body sub and sleeve
Toe valves comprising a bore, a first sub, a second sub, and a housing. The bore extends through the valve. The first sub has separable elements. The separable elements comprise a first sub element and a sleeve element. The first sub element and sleeve element are joined by a relatively weak bridging portion adapted to break in a controlled manner in response to fluid pressure between the first sub element and the sleeve element. They thereby form an integral component comprised of the separable elements. The housing has a port and couples the first sub element and second sub.
Multi-Cycle Counter System
The present disclosed technology relates to a downhole tool activation device, and a method of using the device, where the valve is configured to open when the counter device has moved an activation distance in an activation direction, a piston engaged with the counter device, having a wellbore pressure from a fluid source applied to a first side, and a pressure in a fluid reservoir applied to the second side, the piston configured to move a step distance in a first direction when the wellbore pressure exceeds the pressure in the fluid reservoir, and configured to move a step distance in an opposite direction driven solely by a greater pressure in the fluid reservoir than the wellbore pressure, and a flow restrictor in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir and fluid source, configured to restrict the flow of fluid between the fluid source to the fluid reservoir.
VALVE HAVING A MODULAR ACTIVATION SYSTEM
A valve includes a body having a wall including an outer surface, an inner surface defining a passage, an opening extending from the passage through the outer surface. The outer surface includes a recess. A valve sleeve is arranged in the passage and is selectively positioned over the opening. A valve actuator module is detachably mounted in the recess. The valve actuator module includes a housing having an inlet fluidically exposed to the passage, an outlet fluidically exposed to the valve sleeve, and a valve member arranged between the inlet and the outlet. The valve member includes an actuator delay mechanism.
Pressure responsive downhole tool having a selectively activatable pressure relief valve and related methods
A pressure responsive downhole tool comprises a power piston pressure relief valve that is selectively activated and deactivated to allow pressure-related operations to be conducted. The pressure relief valve will not open until the power piston is activated, which also requires the operating element (ball valve, for example) to be opened, thereby avoided situations in which the ball valve is inadvertently placed in the Lock Open position.
Mechanical Downhole Pressure Maintenance System
A method and apparatus that includes an elongated base pipe having an external surface at least partially defining an external region and an internal surface at least partially defining an internal region; and a pressure maintenance device disposed in the base pipe and comprising: a flow path that extends between the internal region and the external region; and a valve having a gas charged chamber, the valve allowing the flow of a fluid from the internal region to the external region through the first flow path when a pressure differential between a pressure associated with the internal region and a pressure associated with the gas charged chamber is less than a maximum pressure threshold and when a pressure differential between the external region and the pressure associated with the gas charged chamber is greater than a minimum pressure threshold.
DOWNHOLE FLOW CONTROL DEVICE
A downhole flow control device includes a housing, an inlet port, an outlet port and a valve seat surface surrounding the inlet port. A valve plate is mounted within the housing to move between an open position in which the valve plate is separated from the valve seat surface to define a separation flow path therebetween to permit flow in a forward direction from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet, and a closed position in which the valve plate is engaged with the valve seat surface to close the separation flow path to restrict flow in a reverse direction from the fluid outlet to the fluid inlet. At least one of the valve seat and valve plate defines a geometry to encourage an increase in static pressure of fluid flow in the separation flow path when the valve plate is in the open position.
System and method for servicing a wellbore
A wellbore servicing tool comprising a housing at least partially defining an axial flowbore, the housing comprising one or more ports, a sliding sleeve, and a fluid delay system. The sliding sleeve is slidably positioned within the housing and transitionable from a first position in which the sliding prevents fluid communication via a route of fluid communication via the one or more ports to a second position in which the sliding sleeve allows fluid communication via the route of fluid communication via the one or more ports. The fluid delay system is configured to retain the sliding sleeve in the first position until actuated and to allow the sliding sleeve to transition from the first position to the second position at a controlled rate when actuated. The fluid delay system is actuatable via a wireless signal.
Shutoff Valve
A shutoff valve device for permitting and preventing fluid flow in a production string. In one embodiments, the shutoff valve device comprising: a body comprising a borehole, wherein the body is a top sub coupled to a bottom sub via a threaded fastener; a flow tube disposed within the body's borehole and capable of axial movement within the body's borehole, comprising a flow tube borehole; a bi-directional actuator attached to a bottom opening of the flow tube, comprising flexible flaps; and a flapper valve disposed within the body's borehole, wherein the flapper valve is hingedly coupled to a top surface of the bottom sub and capable of moving between a fully opened and fully closed position.
Actuation assembly using pressure delay
A downhole assembly for tool actuation using pressure delay is provided. The downhole assembly can include a chamber, a pressure path, a pressure damper, a pressure source, and a member. The pressure path can be positioned between first and second ends of the chamber. The pressure damper can reduce a rate at which pressure is communicated in the pressure path. Pressure from the pressure source can be communicated to the first end of the chamber and the second end of the chamber at different rates. The member can be positioned in the chamber between the first end and the second end. The member can actuate a downhole tool in response to a pressure difference between the first end and the second end. The pressure difference can result from a difference in between the first rate and the second rate.
Delayed opening pressure actuated ported sub for subterranean use
A ported sub is operated with a pressure actuated shifting sleeve. A first rupture disc is set at a lower pressure than the test pressure for the tubing string that houses the ported sub. The first rupture disc breaks at a lower pressure than the string test pressure to expose well fluids to a disintegrating plug. The plug slowly disintegrates to then expose tubing pressure to a chamber and a second rupture disc with the chamber configured to have no effect on moving the sliding sleeve. When the tubing pressure is then raised to a predetermined pressure below the test pressure for the string, the second disc breaks exposing a piston to tubing pressure on one side and trapped low pressure being the opposite side of the string. The differential moves the sleeve to open a port to let tools be pumped into position without a need to perforate.
