Pressure assisted oil recovery system and apparatus

A pressure assisted oil recovery system and apparatus that has a pulsating effect unit, a multiphasic flow meter, and a production lift system that passes through a wellbore up to an oil reservoir. The pulsating effect unit has a control valve and a smart control unit. The production lift system has production tubing and a wellhead. The pulsating effect unit is connected to the production lift system. The multiphasic flow meter is connected to the production tubing to obtain well production parameters data. The control valve opens and closes having an opening/closing predetermined frequency. When the control valve opens and closes, it generates pressure variations along the production tubing. The pressure variations create a pulsating effect on walls of the wellbore. The multiphasic flow meter and the pulsating effect unit set an optimal opening/closing frequency of the control valve.

A means to generate increasing geological permeability to produce greater volumes of various subsurface geological resources when compared to the current conventional production methods is disclosed. The means include a Pulsed Power Plasma Emitter System capable of substantially increasing the available electrical energy for use in high power compression surge currents that can be discharged and transmitted to power a simplified downhole Plasma Emitter Tool subsystem. The simplified downhole Plasma Emitter Tool sub-system is capable of generating a broad range of precisely controlled magnetohydrodynamic plasma spark discharges that produce a broad range of high power electromagnetic, acoustic and hydrodynamic surge waves. These powerful surge waves are generated at energy and power levels that are necessary to physically modify all types of geological formation permeability and to energize the mobilization of various subsurface fluids and fluidized resources.

Method employing pressure transients in hydrocarbon recovery operations
09803442 · 2017-10-31 · ·

A method to induce pressure transients in fluids for use in hydrocarbon recovery operations by inducing the pressure transients in a fluid by a collision process. The collision process employs a moving object (103,203,303,403) that collides outside the fluid with a body (102,202,302,402) that is in contact with the fluid inside a partly enclosed space (101,201,301,401). Furthermore, the pressure transients must be allowed to propagate in the fluid. The fluid may be one or more of the following group: primarily water, consolidation fluid, treatment fluid, cleaning fluid, drilling fluid, fracturing fluid and cement.

Method for determining regions for stimulation along two parallel adjacent wellbores in a hydrocarbon formation

A method for determining along relatively uniformly spaced apart parallel first and second wellbores situated in an underground hydrocarbon-containing formation, regions within the formation, including in particular regions between such wellbores, to inject a fluid at a pressure above formation dilation pressure, to stimulate production of oil into the second of the two wellbores, and subsequently injecting fluid at pressures above formation dilation pressures at the discrete regions along such wellbores determined to be in need. An initial information-gathering procedure is conducted, wherein fluid is supplied under a pressure less than formation dilation or fracture pressure, to discrete intervals along a first wellbore, and sensors in the second wellbore measure and data is recorded regarding the ease of penetration of such fluid into the various regions of the formation intermediate the two wellbores. Regions of the formation exhibiting poor ease of fluid penetration are thereafter selected for subsequent dilation, at pressures above formation dilation pressures. Where initial fluid pressures and/or formation dilation pressures are provided in cyclic pulses, a downhole tool is disclosed for such purpose.
