Fluid Conditioning and/or Treatment System
20230235650 · 2023-07-27 ·

A fluid conditioning and/or treatment system is disclosed. A bell housing with a pressure relief element, for example a rupture disk, has an external shoulder to seat within a tubular. One or more filter chambers, with slots in the walls thereof, are releasably connected to the bell housing. A magnet mandrel is attached to the lowermost filter chamber. Fluids, for example drilling/completion fluids, are pumped downhole through the apparatus, and the filter chamber(s) and magnet remove solids and ferrous materials from the fluid stream. Threaded connections and connectors create a modular system, with the various elements easily changed out.

Filter sub for downhole applications

A filter assembly can include a filter element and a fluid inlet for fluid to flow through the filter element. The filter assembly can include bypass ports that are in a closed position from bypass port plugs until the filter screen becomes sufficiently clogged such that the fluid is restricted or prevented from flowing through the filter screen, which causes pressure to build up within the filter assembly. The increase in pressure can cause the bypass port plug to open the bypass ports such that fluid can flow through the bypass ports. The filter assembly can include a debris sleeve that partially or wholly surrounds the filter screen.

Sand control screen assemblies and associated methods of manufacturing

A sand control screen assembly includes a base pipe having openings through its thickness, and a mesh layer having mesh material sections coupled to safe edges, or connectors, for connecting sections together. The safe edges include areas of thinning to provide flex joints that yield when exposed to high stresses. The mesh layer may be a drainage layer or a filter medium of the sand control screen assembly.

EXPANDABLE LINER AND METHOD FOR RUNNING THE SAME

An expandable liner and a method for running the same are provided. The expandable liner includes a base pipe, wherein the base pipe is provided with a passage extending through an axial direction of the base pipe, a connection structure disposed at both ends of the base pipe, and screen openings on a wall of the base pipe; a porous expandable layer is fixedly attached to an exterior of the base pipe and made of a non-memory foamed and compressible material. The expandable liner and the method, by adopting a non-memory porous expandable layer, realize a sand-control performance and a wellbore-supporting capability of a prior art technology where memory materials are used, which significantly reduces costs in manufacturing, operating and running.

A tubular joint installable on a tubular string disposable within a wellbore. The tubular joint may include includes a perforated section, a filter section, and a packer. The perforated section may be proximate a first end and may include a first plurality of orifices to allow fluid communication between a bore of the tubular joint and a first area surrounding the tubular joint proximate the perforated section. The filter section may be proximate a second end and may include a filter assembly sized to filter fluid flowing into the bore via a second plurality of orifices from a second area proximate the filter section. The packer may be disposed between the perforated section and the filter section and may be operable to isolate the first area from the second area when the tubular string is disposed within the well.

Method and apparatus for producing hydrocarbon

A hydrocarbon production system comprises a base pipe; and a separator having a body with an inner surface defining a conduit, the inner surface being coated with a polymer blend comprising a hydrophilic component and a hydrophobic component, an inlet, a water outlet, and an oil outlet fluidly coupled to the base pipe.

Expandable tube members that are fabricated from a composite material that includes a structural plastic, which structural plastic includes phase change materials that undergo a permanent expansion upon exposure to wellbore conditions. This permanent expansion of the structural plastic causes the expandable tube member to expand radially and/or longitudinally without the use of an expansion tool. The expandable tube member can be used to control fluid loss, patch wells, stabilize a formation in a wellbore, enhance flow, provide sand screening, and repair damaged pipes, casings, or liners.

SEPARATING DEVICE AND USE OF A SEPARATING DEVICE

The present disclosure relates to a separating device for removing solid particles from fluids, and to the use of said separating device for removing solid particles from fluids.

A method of operating an actuator in mud having debris and lost circulation material is described. The method includes closing a servo valve positioned within a valve housing. The valve housing has a plurality of fluid vents positioned downstream of the servo valve and a plurality of debris vents positioned upstream of the servo valve. Dimensions of the plurality of fluid vents are less than dimensions of the plurality of debris vents. Closing of the servo valve creates a first fluid path such that fluid flows from a mud pump at a surface into the plurality of debris vents and out of the plurality of fluid vents shielding the servo valve from debris and lost circulation material.
