Lifting hydrocarbons
A drive fluid inlet is at an uphole end of the submersible pump top drive. A removable hydraulic motor is driven by drive fluid received by the drive fluid inlet. The removable hydraulic motor is separable from a downhole pump. A receiver is at a downhole end of the hydraulic motor. The receiver is configured to mate with the downhole pump. A drive fluid outlet is configured to expel the drive fluid after the drive fluid has flowed through the hydraulic motor. The drive fluid outlet is downhole of the drive fluid inlet.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CREATING AND USING A MULTI-DIMENSIONAL DATA MATRIX TO IDENTIFY AN OPTIMUM ROTARY STEERABLE SYSTEM SETTING
A method that includes an electronic application identifying an ending of a first drilling segment and a simultaneous beginning of a second drilling segment; identifying a data set of the first drilling segment; automatically creating, in response to the identification of the first drilling segment ending, a new row in a database table that stores a data set for each drilling segment, with the new row storing the variable values of the first drilling segment; creating a multi-dimensional data matrix based on the values in the database table; and extracting, from multi-dimensional data matrix, an optimum value of a variable for an upcoming drilling segment. The method may also include determining that a trajectory or location of a rotary steering system is outside of a tolerance window; and the step of extracting the optimum value of the variable is in response to this determination.
Method and system for controlling multiple pump jacks
A pump jack controller is provided that can harness the potential energy generated during the operation of one pump jack amongst a plurality of pump jacks located at a well site and convert that potential energy into electrical energy that can be used to provide electrical power generated by the pump jack to power the other pump jacks located at the well site.
Stuffing box for vertical pumps
A stuffing box for sealing a top opening of a vertical pump, including: a housing with a vertical tube for rotatably disposing a shaft of the vertical pump, an annular bearing that: divides the vertical tube in a lower half and an upper half, and fills an annular space between an inner wall of the vertical tube and the shaft, such that as less fluid as possible passes from the lower half through the annular bearing to the upper half, an outlet pipe for discharging the fluid passing through the annular bearing.
Liquid pressurizing apparatus and urea synthesis plant
A liquid pressurizing apparatus, comprises a tank provided on a device installation surface for storing liquid so that a fluid level is located above the device installation surface; and a vertical pump including a suction port connected to the tank, multi-stage impellers arranged in a vertical direction, and a discharge port for discharging the liquid passing through the multi-stage impellers. The multi-stage impellers include a first stage impeller positioned at the lowest part of the multi-stage impellers and being configured such that the liquid from the suction port flows into the first stage impeller. The first stage impeller is disposed below the device installation surface.
Rod pump having a hydraulic cylinder and a variable speed reversible motor-generator
A system for energy recovery from a rod pump includes a reversible hydraulic pump; a variable speed reversible motor-generator connected to the reversible hydraulic pump; and a variable speed drive that operates the motor-generator to rotate the reversible hydraulic pump in a forward direction to pump hydraulic fluid to the rod pump during an upstroke, and to operate the motor-generator in a generator mode in which a weight of a rod string lowers a piston in the rod pump during a downstroke to pump hydraulic fluid to rotate the hydraulic pump in reverse such that the motor-generator generates electricity, and the variable speed drive modulates a speed of the motor-generator during the downstroke to modulate a speed of the reversible hydraulic pump to control a rate of flow of hydraulic fluid through the reversible hydraulic pump and thereby modulate a rate of downward motion of the rod string.
DOWNHOLE PRODUCTION SYSTEM WITH FLOW DIVERTER FOR GAS SEPARATION
There is provided a reservoir fluid production system, deployable within a wellbore, whose components are manufactured from polymeric materials, such as, for example, continuous fibers.
Load balanced power section of progressing cavity device
A progressing cavity device operates as a motor to impart torque to a bit. A stator of the device defines an internal profile having uphole stages with a first dimension being less than a second dimension of downhole stage. A rotor has an external profile with a constant outer dimension along its length. Disposed in the stator, the rotor defines cavities with the stator and is rotatable with pumped fluid progressing in the cavities from the uphole to downhole to transfer torque to the drive toward the downhole end. Although the rotor is subjected at the downhole end to a reactive torque from the bit, the interference fit of the rotor's constant dimension with the stator's downhole stages is less than with the uphole stages, which can mitigate issues with heat buildup in the downhole stages. The device can also operates as a progressing cavity pump.
VIBRATION MONITORING AND DATA ANALYTICS FOR VERTICAL CHARGE PUMPS
A system includes a vertical charge pump assembly. The vertical charge pump assembly includes a top portion adjacent to a first end of the vertical charge pump assembly and a bottom portion adjacent to a second end of the vertical charge pump assembly. A pump motor is disposed in the top portion and an impeller is disposed in the bottom portion within a bowl casing. A shaft is disposed within a central passageway and connects the pump motor with the impeller. The vertical charge pump assembly also includes an inlet at the second end below the bowl casing. The pump inlet and the bowl casing are configured to be immersed in a fluid, and the vertical charge pump assembly is configured to pump the fluid into the inlet and upwards through the central passageway by rotation of the impeller. A vibration sensor is disposed on an external surface of the bottom portion, on or proximate to the bowl casing and the pump inlet. The vibration sensor includes a substrate comprising a polymer and a resonant layer disposed on a surface of the substrate. The resonant layer comprises an electrically conductive nanomaterial and is configured to produce a resonant response in response to receiving a radio frequency signal.
Wellbore Production Method and System Using Bailer
Hydrocarbons are produced from a wellbore using a wand member supported within the top end of the casing and a bailer vessel supported within the casing of the wellbore to reciprocate between (i) a lower position submerged in the hydrocarbon fluids at a predetermined depth within the casing such that fluids enter a production chamber of the bailer vessel and (ii) an upper position receiving the wand member therein through an open top of the bailer vessel so as to force the hydrocarbon fluids in the production chamber under pressure through a bottom opening in the wand member and into a receiving chamber of the wand member. The hydrocarbons in the wand member are then discharged to a location externally of the casing for storage.
