Tested products of PDM performance testing device
An adapted elastomer compound, in which the adaptation is based at least in part on load performance data of a rotor/stator test coupon as evaluated on a test apparatus. The test coupon's stator section includes the original elastomer compound before adaptation thereof. The test apparatus includes a motor, a brake, and at least one sensor disposed to evaluate load performance data of the test coupon. The load performance data is the product of the process comprising the steps of: (a) rotating either the rotor section or the stator section on the test apparatus, wherein such rotation section actuates corresponding rotation of the other of the rotor section and the stator section; (b) applying a braking torque to the actuated rotor section or stator section; and (c) responsive to step (b), evaluating load performance data of the test coupon.
SCROLL FLUID MACHINE
In a scroll fluid machine, a thinned section (26) is provided in correspondence with a position at which the wrap height of a spiral wrap (15B, 16B) changes due to a step part. The thinned section (26) is provided on the front-side surface or the rear-side surface of a tooth tip section of at least one of the spiral wraps (15B, 16B) of at least one of partner scrolls (15, 16) respectively engaging with scrolls (15, 16). The thinned section (26) is provided in the direction in which the wrap thickness decreases so as to extend over at least a reduced-machining-accuracy area (27), which is an area where the machining becomes discontinuous due to at least a change in the wrap height. Thus, a contact failure between the spiral wraps (15B, 16B) is avoided in the area where the machining accuracy relatively decreases as a result of increasing the machining speed, thereby achieving both improved productivity and maintained performance.
Scroll compressor having a scroll wrap with tiered inner end
A scroll compressor to compress fluid in a compression chamber formed by combining a scroll wrap of a fixed scroll and a scroll wrap of an orbiting scroll, the scroll wrap of the fixed scroll and the scroll wrap of the orbiting scroll each having a scroll inner end part having a bulb shape defined by an outer surface involute curve, an inner surface involute curve, and a plurality of arcs connecting an end of the outer surface involute curve and an end of the inner surface involute curve, at least one of the scroll inner end parts being formed in an n-tier stair-like shape in which n (n≧3) number of bulb shapes are stacked on top of one another in an upright direction of the scroll wrap, the scroll compressor being configured to satisfy φos (0)>φos (1)>φos (2)> . . . >φos (n−1) where involute roll angles of the outer surface involute curve in tiers of the stair-like shape of the scroll inner end part are φos (0), φos (1), φos (2), . . . , φos (n−1), respectively, from a wrap tip side to a wrap root side.
Scroll compressor containing scroll self-rotation prevention arrangement
A scroll compressor is provided in which one of a fixed scroll or an orbiting scroll is provided with at least one guide groove, and the other is provided with a self-rotation prevention member inserted into the at least one guide groove to revolve in the at least one guide groove and configured to prevent self-rotation of the orbiting scroll.

A scroll compressor is provided in which one of a fixed scroll or an orbiting scroll is provided with at least one guide groove, and the other is provided with a self-rotation prevention member inserted into the at least one guide groove to revolve in the at least one guide groove and configured to prevent self-rotation of the orbiting scroll.
Stall simulator for PDM performance testing device
A method for evaluating load performance of a rotor/stator test coupon tested within a sealable test chamber containing test fluid. The test coupon preferably includes at least a partial length of a PDM stage. Alternatively, the test coupon may include a splined rotor/stator. The method includes rotating either the rotor section or the stator section in order to actuate corresponding rotation of the other of the rotor section and the stator section. Non-linear torque in the form of an acceleration torque and/or a braking torque may be applied to either the rotor section or the stator section. Downhole stall conditions may be simulated by selectively engaging and disengaging a second motor and flywheel to vary rotational torque applied to the test coupon. Load performance of the test coupon may be evaluated over time in such simulated stall conditions.
Scroll-type fluid machine and maintenance method for same
A scroll-type fluid machine and maintenance method for same are provided in order to improve reliability and workability by supplying sufficient grease to necessary parts of an orbiting bearing or auxiliary crank bearing without entailing a complicated operation during maintenance. The scroll-type fluid machine includes a fixed scroll, an orbiting scroll, a casing provided on the outer side of the orbiting scroll in the radial direction, a drive shaft, an orbiting bearing supporting the drive shaft with respect to the orbiting scroll, and a piping supplying a lubricant to the orbiting bearing. The orbiting scroll is provided with a boss plate that is attached to the drive shaft, the piping is provided in the boss plate, and the tip of the piping faces toward an opening provided between the casing and the fixed scroll or toward an opening provided in the fixed scroll or the casing.

A method for evaluating load performance of a rotor/stator test coupon, advantageously within a sealable test chamber comprising test fluid. In some embodiments, the test coupon comprises at least a partial length of a PDM stage, and in others the test coupon comprises a splined rotor/stator. The method includes rotating either the rotor section or the stator section, wherein such rotation actuates corresponding rotation of the other of the rotor section and the stator section. on-linear torque in the form of an acceleration torque and/or a braking torque may be applied to either the rotor section or the stator section. Some embodiments include simulating downhole stall conditions via selectively engaging and disengaging a second motor and flywheel to vary rotational torque applied to the test coupon. Load performance of the test coupon may be evaluated over time in such simulated stall conditions.
