COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT UTILIZING ORGANIC WATER ADDITIVES
20230027437 · 2023-01-26 ·

Organic water conditioning agents may be added to an aqueous stream that is supplied to a steam generator, such as a heat recovery steam generator within a combined cycle power plant. These organic water conditioning agents may degrade to electrically-charged decomposition products that can interfere with cation conductivity measurements made on the aqueous stream. To allow deployment of the organic water conditioning agents, a sampling device can process aqueous samples to destroy interfering organic molecules, such as through heat or irradiation. Cation conductivity measurements can then be made on the aqueous sample after destroying and removing interfering organic species from the sample stream.

Steam sample concentrator and conditioner for on-line steam purity analysis
11573158 · 2023-02-07 · ·

The present invention relates to a steam sample concentrator and conditioning (SSCC) system. The SSCC finds use in concentrating impurities carried in steam (e.g., used in power generation and other industrial processes) and facilitating steam analysis. A device for determining steam purity includes an isokinetic flow control device that maintain isokinetic flow of a steam sample stream through a nozzle, and a pump that prevents the steam sample stream from becoming superheated after the isokinetic flow control device. A contactor condenses the steam sample stream, and a separator that separates a condensate sample stream from a residual steam stream sample. A flowmeter measures a flowrate of the condensate sample stream and an analyzer is configured to measure impurities.

Steam turbine plant and cooling method for same

A steam turbine plant is provided with: a boiler; a fuel valve; a low-temperature steam generation source; a steam turbine; a main steam line that guides steam generated in the boiler to the steam turbine; a main steam adjustment valve that is provided to the main steam line; a low-temperature steam line that guides low-temperature steam from the low-temperature generation source to a position closer to the steam turbine-side than the main steam adjustment valve in the main steam line; a low-temperature steam valve provided to the low-temperature steam line; and a control device. During a stopping process of the steam turbine plant, the control device sends a command to close the fuel valve, and then sends a command to open the low-temperature steam valve.

A device maintenance apparatus includes: a comparison target selector configured to select comparison targets of a device information of a device as a maintenance target; and a display configured to display a comparative information generated based on changes in the device information.

Live steam determination of an expansion engine

The present invention provides a method for open-loop controlling or closed-loop controlling and/or monitoring a device with an expansion engine which is supplied live steam of a working medium that is expanded to exhaust steam in the expansion engine comprising the steps: determining at least one physical parameter of the exhaust steam; determining at least one physical parameter of the live steam based on the determined at least one physical parameter of the exhaust steam; and open-loop controlling or closed-loop controlling and/or monitoring the device based on the at least one determined physical parameter of the live steam. A thermal power plant is also provided in which the method is realized.

Turbine speed detection and use

A speed control system and a power load balance detector for a turbine is provided. The speed control system includes a speed wheel with a plurality of teeth. A timer stores a time stamp when each of the teeth passes by a speed probe. A first speed estimate is determined for overspeed protection, and a second speed estimate is determined for operational speed control. The power load balance detector trips or shuts down the turbine when an unbalance is above a first threshold and the speed of the turbine is above a second threshold.
