The crankshaft connecting rod mechanism is installed in the crankshaft chamber. Each piston is received in the cylinder chambers and connected with the crankshaft connecting rod mechanism. The intake pipe only communicates with the crankshaft chamber. One end of each draft tube only communicates with the crankshaft chamber and another end only communicates with each cylinder chamber. The check valve is installed in the crankshaft chamber. The rotating rod control mechanism includes a rotating rod and a sealing block fixedly connected and rotating with the rotating rod. The sealing block blocks and seals a joint between the crankshaft chamber and each draft tube.

ACTIVE VALVE SHIMMING

In accordance with at least one aspect of this disclosure, a system can include, a moveable component configured to move between one or more positions, a biasing member operatively connected on a first side to bias the moveable component to a respective one of the one or more positions, and a preload member operatively connected to provide a force to a second side of the biasing member. An actuator can be operatively connected to move the preload member in response to a signal from a controller.

LASH ADJUSTER WITH HYDRAULIC LASH ASSEMBLY AND MECHANICAL LASH ASSEMBLY

A lash adjuster can include a hydraulic lash assembly, a mechanical lash assembly, and a check assembly. The hydraulic lash assembly can include a body, a top plunger, a leak down plunger, and the check assembly between the body and the leak down plunger. The mechanical lash assembly can be between the top plunger and the leak down plunger. The mechanical lash assembly can include a shim abutting the top plunger, a spacer, and a spring pressing against the spacer and the shim to form a gap between the top plunger and the leak down plunger. The lash adjuster can include the spring pressing directly against the spacer and directly or indirectly against the shim.

Marine outboard motor with valve train having adjustable lash
11313255 · 2022-04-26 · ·

A marine outboard motor having an internal combustion engine is provided. The internal combustion engine includes an engine block having at least one cylinder and a valve train comprising a cam, a valve assembly including a valve spring, a roller finger follower, and a pivot post. The pivot post extends from a fixed body of the engine block and defines a contact surface about which the roller finger follower pivots when deflected by the cam during use. The pivot post is moveable relative to the fixed body in a first longitudinal direction (A) against the action of the valve spring. A removable shim is disposed between the fixed body and a portion (182) of the pivot post to space the pivot post from the fixed body in the first longitudinal direction (A) and thereby reduce an amount of lash between the cam and the roller finger follower. The removable shim is dimensioned to fit at least partly around a shaft portion of the pivot post.

A linkage for coupling between an actuator and a valve in an engine valve actuation assembly. The linkage provides some compliance in the operation of the linkage to close the valve. The linkage comprises a rocker having a rigid body portion, the body portion including a pivot axis about which it is rotatable, and a link mount for coupling to a valve link arm. The link mount is moveable from a rest position relative to the body portion, and the link mount is urged back towards its rest position when displaced from its rest position relative to the body portion.

LATCHING PIN ASSEMBLY AND DEACTIVATING ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY

A latch assembly (500) can comprise a main latch pin assembly (531, 532) comprising a first diameter (D1) on a first main pin face (512, 522), and a secondary latch piston (541, 561) comprising a second diameter (D2) on a secondary piston face (543, 563). The secondary latch piston can be configured to selectively act on the main latching pin assembly. The main latch pin assembly can be biased to oppose the secondary latch piston. The first diameter can be greater than the second diameter. A rocker arm assembly (10) can comprise the latch assembly. A primary arm (100) can be configured to receive the main latch pin assembly. A secondary arm (300) can be configured to receive the secondary latch piston.
