SWITCHING ROCKER ARM HAVING STAMPED INNER ARM CONFIGURATION
A switching roller finger follower (SRFF) assembly for valve actuation includes an outer arm and an inner arm pivotally coupled to the outer arm via a pivot axle and at least partially disposed within the outer arm. The inner arm is unitarily formed and has a first inner side arm and a second inner side arm having respective laterally spaced apart longitudinal bends that each define pin apertures. A spring engagement pin extends through the pin apertures, a pair of lost motion springs are supported by the pivot axle, an inner roller is rotatably coupled to the inner arm, and a pair of outer rollers are disposed on respective axles supported by the outer arm.
Switching rocker arm having cantilevered rollers
A switching rocker arm comprises an outer arm having a pair of integrally formed axles extending outwardly therefrom and an inner arm pivotally secured to the outer arm. A is latch slidably connected to the outer arm and is configured to selectively extend to engage the inner arm. An inner roller is configured on the inner arm, and a pair of outer rollers is mounted on the respective integrally formed axles on the outer arm. A rocker arm for variable valve lift comprises an outer arm comprising outer arm portions, rollers mounted in a cantilevered manner to the outer arm portions, and an inner arm seated between the outer arm portions, the inner arm comprising an inner roller. A pivot axle connects the outer arm and the inner arm. The inner arm and the outer arm are pivotable with respect to one another about the pivot axle.
ROLLER HYDRAULIC VALVE LIFTER BEARING
A roller hydraulic valve lifter includes a body having a longitudinal central axis and an interior area defined by an inside surface which has a pair of flat surfaces opposite one another and connected by a pair of walls. A first bore, essentially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, extends through the flat surfaces. A bearing is disposed partially in the interior area. The bearing includes an outer ring having substantially cylindrical exterior and interior bearing surfaces. A shaft extends through the first bore and the outer ring and between the pair of flat surfaces. A plurality of needle rollers is disposed between and rollingly engage the shaft and the cylindrical inner bearing surface. The shaft and the plurality of needle rollers are manufactured from an AISI 52100 alloy steel that is carbo-nitrided. The shaft and the plurality of needle rollers have a surface hardness of a minimum of HRc 65.
SWITCHING ROLLER FINGER FOLLOWER WITH INNER ARM HAVING ASYMMETRIC INNER ROLLER
A switching roller finger follower (SRFF) assembly for valve actuation comprises an outer arm, an inner arm, an inner roller, a bearing axle and a pair of outer rollers. The outer arm is pivotally coupled to a pivot axle. The inner arm is at least partially disposed within the outer arm and pivotally coupled to the pivot axle. The inner roller assembly comprise a bushing and an outer ring. The bushing defines a curved slot therein. The bushing is fixed to the inner arm. The outer ring is configured to rotate around the bushing. The bearing axle extends through the curved slot. The pair of outer rollers are disposed on each end of the bearing axle.
Variable-Stroke Valve Drive With a Double Leg Spring
A variable-stroke valve drive includes a double leg spring with a first spring leg and a second spring leg in a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine and a pivot lever. The pivot lever is supported on a guideway track of a guideway by a rolling element having a pivot point and the pivot lever, by way of a control track, is supported so as to be clearance-free on an intermediate element to a charge-cycle valve. The pivot lever is pivotable by a cam of a cam shaft for adjusting a stroke and the pivot point is displaceable parallel to the guideway track by an adjustment installation for adjusting a stroke height. The double leg spring in a central region forms an intermediate leg. A respective end of the first and second spring legs is formed to be largely parallel to a longitudinal axis of the double leg spring.
Cam follower and method for manufacturing such a cam follower
A cam follower, comprising: a tappet which includes two flanges provided with opposite holes centered on a transverse axis; a pin extending along the transverse axis between two opposite ends received in the opposite holes; and a roller movable in rotation relative to the pin around the transverse axis and adapted to roll on a cam. Each of the opposite holes is provided with: an open portion for mounting the pin by translation in a first direction perpendicular to the transverse axis, a cylindrical portion for supporting the pin along the first direction and a plane portion for retaining the pin along the transverse axis during transport and mounting of the cam follower. A method includes steps for manufacturing such a cam follower.
HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP ROLLER TAPPET
A high-pressure oil pump roller tappet, used for automobile fuel injection system, mounted between the driving cam and the tappet. The roller tappet includes a shell, a holder, a roller, and a pin. Planes A are arranged on both sides of the seam on lateral sides of the shell. Holes I are arranged at symmetrical positions on two planes A. Holes II are arranged on symmetrical positions on vertical plates. The roller is located in the middle of the pin. Welding has no requirement on the thickness of the plate. The weight can be controlled effectively, reducing inertia force, friction, and wear, improving engine efficiency. The shell and holder are designed as being separate, ensuring that the shell subjects to lateral force as little as possible when the holder subjects to a force, such that the shell is less likely to vibrate. Thus, the shell avoids the abrasion.
