VARIABLE VALVE MECHANISM, ENGINE, AND AUTOMATIC TWO-WHEELED VEHICLE
The present invention is capable of more smoothly changing a phase of a cam shaft in a rotation direction. A variable valve mechanism changes an opening/closing timing of an intake valve or an exhaust valve in response to an engine rotation speed. The variable valve mechanism includes: a cam sprocket which rotates in response to a rotation of a crank shaft; an intake cam shaft which is integrated with an intake cam and is provided to be rotatable relatively to the cam sprocket; and a link member that transmits a rotation from the cam sprocket to the intake cam shaft. The link member is supported by the cam sprocket to be swingable and swings in response to a change in rotation speed of the cam sprocket to rotate the intake cam shaft relatively to the cam sprocket.
Internal combustion engine equipped with decompression mechanism
An internal combustion includes: a camshaft having a metal core rod insert formed centrally in the camshaft and a driven gear, an exhaust cam, etc. formed of resin integrally with the camshaft; and a decompression mechanism. The decompression mechanism includes: a pair of supporting protrusions provided on the driven gear and each having an insertion hole; a decompression member having a pair of projections disposed between the supporting protrusions; and a biasing spring disposed between the projections for normally biasing the decompression member toward the exhaust cam. The camshaft also has a guide recess and a balancing recess formed in opposite sides of the camshaft, and the metal core rod is exposed through the guide recess and the balancing recess.
Variable valve gear for internal combustion engine
A variable valve gear for an internal combustion engine includes: a cam base portion integrally or separately provided in a camshaft, and immovably fixed to the camshaft; a cam lobe portion connected to the cam base portion so as to swing and shift between a first state where the cam lobe portion is positioned to project from an outer circumference of the base portion and a second state where the cam lobe portion is positioned to be lower than the cam base portion in the first state; a lock mechanism locking the cam lobe portion in the first and second state; and a biasing member biasing the cam lobe portion to be shifted to the first state, to such an extent that the cam lobe portion is shifted to the second state by reaction force from a cam follower when the locking mechanism is unlocked.
Engine decompression device and engine
A decompression shaft (56) of a decompression device (50) includes an engagement pin (53) that is guided by a guide groove (51a) formed in a decompression weight (51), a decompression cam (54) that is provided on one cam surface of an intake valve cam (25c) and an exhaust valve cam (25b) so as to advance and retreat, and a connection portion (55) that connects the engagement pin (53) and the decompression cam (54). The decompression weight (51) is formed with a rotation restricting groove (51e) that restricts rotation of the decompression shaft (56) when a force acts in a direction in which the decompression cam (54) moves on the decompression shaft (56) from an advanced position to a retracted position when an engine (E) is stopped and that is continuous with the guide groove (51a).

The lever includes a cam portion configured to protrude out from the camshaft with the lever at the first position, a centrifugal weight for moving the lever toward the second position in accordance with rotation of the camshaft, and an abutment portion configured to be in abutment with an inner peripheral surface of the camshaft with the lever at the first position, and be located away from the inner peripheral surface with the lever at the second position.
DEPRESSURIZATION DEVICE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A depressurization device is mounted on a camshaft that includes an exhaust cam operable to push an exhaust rocker arm. The depressurization device includes a base disc mounted on the camshaft and adjacent to the exhaust cam, a counterweight swing arm coupled to the base disc, an elastic element arranged between the base disc and the counterweight swing arm, a depressurization cam element coupled to the exhaust cam and drivable by the counterweight swing arm, and an axle bar extending through the base disc and the counterweight swing arm.
