Breather/check valve oil and air separator system and method
An oil and air separator including a catch can with an inlet and an outlet thereto, the catch can adapted to remove oil from vapors entering the catch can via the inlet, and including an internal reservoir within which oil from the vapors entering the catch can may collect; and a check valve including a first end disposed within the internal reservoir, a second end, and a first fluid pathway therebetween in fluid communication with the internal reservoir, wherein vapors within the internal reservoir may exit the catch can through the first fluid pathway or a second fluid pathway including the outlet.
CRANKCASE VENTILATION VALVE FOR AN ENGINE
A positive crankcase ventilation valve for an engine is provided with a valve body defining apertures fluidly coupling a crankcase and an intake manifold of the engine, with each aperture sized to prevent an entrained oil droplet from flowing therethrough. The valve has a valve element supported by the body to selectively cover at least one of the apertures in response to a pressure difference between the manifold and the crankcase to provide variable air flow from the crankcase to the intake manifold. A method includes, in response to an increasing absolute pressure difference between the manifold and the crankcase, passively moving a valve element to selectively cover apertures fluidly coupling the crankcase and the manifold to control an air flow from the crankcase to the intake manifold to a predetermined variable flow profile, and separating oil droplets from the air flow via the apertures.
Systems and methods for make-up air blocking valve with a restrictive poppet orifice
Valves, internal combustion engines including such valves, and methods of on-board diagnostic leak detection for a crankcase ventilation system using such valves are disclosed. Each valve has a housing defining a first port and a second port in fluid communication with one another and defining a valve seat therebetween. A biasing member biases a poppet sealing member into a normally open position (defining unrestricted flow through the valve) and a commanded actuator is connected to the poppet sealing member. The poppet sealing member has an orifice therethrough defining a restricted flow path, and, upon command, the commanded actuator moves the poppet sealing member from the open position to a restricted flow position in which the poppet sealing member is seated against the valve seat for restricted flow thorough the orifice in the poppet sealing member.
Electromagnetic valve
To provide an electromagnetic valve that can prevent damage due to wear of a valve element and a case of a solenoid, or occurrence of a striking sound when a valve is opened. An electromagnetic valve includes a solenoid having a case, a flow path member, and a columnar valve element that is housed in the valve element housing portion of the flow path member and moves with a plunger of the solenoid to open and close a flow path. A first seat member in contact with the plunger is disposed on the valve element, and a second seat member in contact with the plunger is disposed on the case of the solenoid. An elastic modulus of the first seat member is larger than an elastic modulus of the valve element, and an elastic modulus of the second seat member is smaller than an elastic modulus of the case.
VENTILATION/LUBRICATION SYSTEM OF THE CRANK CHAMBER OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, IN PARTICULAR FOR VEHICLES WITH A RIDEABLE SADDLE
A lubrication system for internal combustion engines, in particular for vehicles with a rideable saddle, said system comprising a crank chamber in which at least one connecting rod is accommodated, and a basin or pan for collecting a lubricating liquid, wherein said crank chamber and said collection basin or pan are put in mutual communication by means of a first opening obtained in said crank chamber, wherein the flow of said lubricating liquid through said first opening from said crank chamber into said basin is adjusted by means of a first adjusting element adapted to be switched to an open position so as to allow the discharge of said lubricating liquid from said crank chamber into said collection basin or pan at a predetermined switching gas pressure value inside said crank chamber.
VENTED TRANSMISSION COVER
A device configured to attach to a motor vehicle transmission housing enclosing the motor vehicle transmission is disclosed. The device includes a cover having an upper surface and a lower surface. The lower surface includes at least a first chamber and a second chamber, such that, once said cover is installed onto the motor vehicle transmission housing, the first chamber is in fluid communication with a motor vehicle crankcase and a motor vehicle oil tank, and the second chamber is in fluid communication with the motor vehicle transmission. The device includes a vent extending through the upper surface and the lower surface so as to vent pressure within said first chamber to the outside of said first chamber.
Cylinder head cover integrated with active oil mist separator
A cylinder head cover integrated with an active oil mist separator may include a cylinder head cover body, a booster, and an oil mist separator. The cylinder head cover body may be provided with an exhaust passage and a separation passage. The booster may be mounted outside the cylinder head cover body. The booster may have a booster intake port and a booster exhaust port. The booster intake port may be connected with the exhaust passage. The booster exhaust port may be connected with the separation passage. The oil mist separator may be mounted in the separation passage and the oil mist separator may be located on a downstream side of the booster.
Crankcase ventilation system with constant restriction in the flow direction and free flow in an opposite direction
A breach detection system for an internal combustion engine having a crankcase, an intake manifold, a positive crankcase ventilation valve, a crankcase ventilation tube with a flow control system therein, and a pressure sensor between the flow control system and the crankcase. The flow control system subdivides the crankcase ventilation tube into a plurality of parallel conduits—a first conduit having a normally closed check valve that opens under a first preselected pressure drop in a first direction from the air intake to the crankcase, and a second conduit having either a second check valve that opens under a second preselected pressure drop in a second direction opposite the first direction or a restriction profile having a third preselected pressure drop that is the same in both the first and second direction. When the pressure sensor detects no pressure drop there is a breach in the system.
Agricultural machine
An agricultural machine, comprising is disclosed, wherein the machine comprises a body frame; a cutting system mounted on the body frame; a drive system mounted on the body frame; a power unit, mounted on the body frame, adapted to provide power to the drive system and/or the cutting system; and a fluid distribution system adapted to provide fluid to the power unit. The fluid distribution system further comprises a dock and a replaceable fluid container adapted to contain fluid to be supplied to the power unit the dock being adapted to retain the replaceable fluid container in fluid communication with the fluid distribution system so as to supply fluid from the replaceable fluid container via the fluid distribution system to the power unit.
