Oil removal apparatus
Embodiments of the present disclosure may suppress conduction between an anode and a cathode caused by condensed water in an oil removal apparatus in which oil particles are collected in a filter disposed between the anode and the cathode. An insulating layer may be sandwiched either between the filter and at least one of the anode and the cathode of the bipolar electrode, or within the filter so as to extend in a flow direction of blow-by gas, and may have an insulating property so as to prevent condensed water generated when moisture in the blow-by gas condenses, from connecting the anode and the cathode of the bipolar electrode.
OIL REMOVAL APPARATUS
An object of the present invention is to suppress conduction between an anode and a cathode caused by condensed water in an oil removal apparatus in which oil particles are trapped in a filter disposed between the anode and the cathode. A bipolar electrode having an anode and a cathode that extend in a flow direction of blow-by gas, and a filter formed from an insulator and disposed between the anode and the cathode of the bipolar electrode are housed in a case. Further, when the oil removal apparatus is installed in a vehicle, the bipolar electrode and the filter are disposed in the case so as to be arranged in a horizontal direction, and a space through which the blow-by gas flows is formed between a lower inner wall surface of the case, and the bipolar electrode and filter.

An electrostatic oil mist separator for an internal combustion engine includes a positive plate and a negative plate facing each other, a filter arranged between the positive plate and the negative plate, a case having an inlet and an outlet and houses the positive plate, the negative plate, and the filter, and a voltage generator. The electrostatic oil mist separator is configured to cause blow-by gas to flow from the inlet to the outlet between the positive plate and the negative plate in a state in which the voltage generator is applying a voltage across the positive plate and the negative plate, thereby separating oil mist from the blow-by gas by electrostatic adsorption force. At least one of the positive plate and the negative plate is made of a metal plate and includes a plurality of protrusions that are formed by cutting and raising the metal plate.
