Lubricant supply apparatus for internal combustion engine
A lubricant supply apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes a lubricant shower and a baffle plate. The lubricant shower is disposed between a camshaft and a cylinder head cover attached to a cylinder head. The lubricant shower includes a supply port from which a lubricant is supplied to the camshaft. The baffle plate is disposed between the camshaft and the lubricant shower such that a clearance is provided between the baffle plate and the lubricant shower. The baffle plate includes a hole provided at a position at which the hole of the baffle plate overlaps with the supply port of the lubricant shower. The camshaft is provided with a cam. The supply port of the lubricant shower and the hole of the baffle plate are located above the cam.
Piston arrangement
A piston arrangement including a track and a piston moveable within a cylinder; wherein the track is adapted to rotate relative to the cylinder about an axis of rotation and has a cam surface and an edge surface extending away from the cam surface; wherein the piston is coupled to the track by a follower running on the cam surface; wherein the cam surface is shaped such that, as the track moves relative to the cylinder, the piston head moves in reciprocating motion within the cylinder in accordance with the path of the cam surface; wherein a stabilising element is connected to the piston, the stabilising element extending below the piston head and comprising a contact surface which engages the edge surface of the track.
Lubricating oil supply structure
A lubricating oil supply structure includes: a shaft; a bearing supporting the shaft and having an oil supply port, through which lubricating oil is supplied to between the shaft and the bearing, and an oil introduction port, through which the lubricating oil is introduced; a first oil passage, connected to the oil supply port, distributing the lubricating oil from an oil pump toward the oil supply port; a second oil passage, connected to the oil introduction port, supplying the lubricating oil introduced through the oil introduction port to a supply destination; a connection oil passage, formed by a gap between the bearing and the shaft, connecting between the first oil passage and the second oil passage, and a throttle portion, formed on a part of the connection oil passage, suppressing a flow of the lubricating oil from the oil supply port toward the oil introduction port.
Cylinder head
The cylinder head includes an intake port communicating with a cylinder of a cylinder block, a cylinder head main body having an exhaust port communicating with the cylinder, and a rocker housing integrally formed on the cylinder head main body and an inner side of which is defined as a valve-system accommodating space. The rocker housing includes a lateral wall having a lateral wall main body and a base end portion which extends along a lower end of the lateral wall main body, connects the lateral wall main body to the cylinder head main body, and has a thickness thicker than that of the lateral wall body. A flow path which extends in an extending direction of the base end portion and through which a fluid flow is formed in the base end portion.
Continuous Variable Valve Duration Apparatus and Engine Provided with the Same
A continuous variable valve duration apparatus includes a cam unit, a cam formed on the cam unit, a camshaft inserted into the cam, a guide bracket, a guide shaft mounted on the guide bracket and disposed perpendicular to the camshaft, wherein a guide screw thread is formed on the guide shaft, a wheel housing disposed within the guide bracket, an inner wheel rotatably inserted into the wheel housing and movable perpendicular to the camshaft, a worm wheel disposed within the wheel housing, wherein an inner screw thread configured to engage with the guide screw thread is formed inside the worm wheel and an outer screw thread is formed on the worm wheel, a control shaft, a control worm formed on the control shaft, and a wheel elastic portion mounted to the wheel housing.
Tappet
Provided is a tappet capable of supplying lubricating oil to a cam even when provided with a lash adjuster. A tappet (10) includes: a lash adjuster (11) having a plunger (14) and a body (13) in which the plunger (14) is housed so as to be vertically movable, wherein the plunger (14) has a top portion (16) against which a lower end portion of a push rod (88) slidably abuts; and a tappet body (12) which has an assembly hole (45) in which the body (13) is inserted, has a cup-like shape, and has a lower surface portion (27) which slidingly contacts a cam (70). The tappet body (12) has an oil guide passage (30) extending so as to guide lubricating oil from the push rod (88) side to the cam (70).
Lubricating structure of variable valve train
An engine camshaft has a lubricating oil passage formed along the longitudinal axis of the same, a cam communicating oil hole is radially formed from the lubricating oil passage to an outer peripheral surface of the camshaft at the same axial position as an engine valve. Cam lubrication holes are radially formed from the inside to cam surfaces of cam lobes formed around a cam carrier fitted around the camshaft. One of the cam lubrication holes of the cam lobes shifted to a position for operating the valve communicates with the cam communicating oil hole of the camshaft to supply lubricant oil.
Piston arrangement
A piston arrangement is provided. The piston assembly includes a track and a piston moveable within a cylinder. The track is rotatable relative to the cylinder about an axis of rotation and has a cam surface and an edge surface extending away from the cam surface. The piston is coupled to the track by a follower running on the cam surface. The cam surface is shaped such that, as the track moves relative to the cylinder, the piston head moves in reciprocating motion within the cylinder along a piston axis in accordance with the path of the cam surface. The piston axis is perpendicular to the track axis of rotation. A stabilizing element is connected to the piston, the stabilizing element extending below the piston head and comprising a contact surface which engages the edge surface of the track.
Internal combustion engine, straddled vehicle, and method for manufacturing internal combustion engine
An internal combustion engine includes a cylinder head including a first valve lifter hole, a first camshaft rotatably supported on the cylinder head, a first valve lifter inserted in the first valve lifter hole, a first valve spring that biases the first valve lifter toward the first cam of the first camshaft, and an oil supply passage having a first oil supply port formed on the inner circumferential surface of the first valve lifter hole and a first passage connected to the first oil supply port. An upper end of the first oil supply port is located upward relative to the upper surface of the first valve lifter when the first valve lifter is in the lower position. A lower end of the first oil supply port is located downward relative to the upper surface of the first valve lifter when the first valve lifter is in the upper position.
Valve mechanism, engine and vehicle
A valve mechanism includes a valve, a camshaft, a fixed support, an intermediate swing arm and a supporting base. The fixed support is provided with a connecting-portion via hole running from top to bottom, two oil passages are defined in a connecting portion, and each of the oil passages is connected with the connecting-portion via hole and a corresponding intermediate swing arm shaft hole. The supporting base defines first and second oil feeding passages therein, the first supporting-base oil feeding passage is communicated with the connecting-portion via hole, and an upper end of the second supporting-base oil feeding passage extends to a base-body camshaft supporting portion of the supporting base. An engine and a vehicle are also provided.
