The molecular sieve has micromorphology in a football shape and consists of molecular sieve framework and active elements. The molecular sieve framework comprises silicon element and aluminum element; the active elements comprise copper element and rare earth elements. The rare earth elements are one or more selected from the group consisting of La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Sc and Y. The mass ratio of the silicon element to the aluminum element is 3-9:1. The content of the copper element in the molecular sieve is 1.5-3.2 wt %. The mass of rare earth elements is 50 ppm-2 wt % of the molecular sieve framework. The mass of the silicon element is calculated by silicon dioxide, the mass of aluminum element is calculated by aluminum oxide, the mass of copper element is calculated by copper oxides, and the mass of rare earth elements is calculated by rare earth oxides. The molecular sieve has a high catalytic activity in a temperature range of 175-550° C. and a good resistance to hydrothermal aging.
DOSING AND MIXING ARRANGEMENT FOR USE IN EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT
A method for causing exhaust gas flow to flow at least 270 degrees in a first direction about a perforated tube using a baffle plate having a main body with a plurality of flow-through openings and a plurality of louvers positioned adjacent to the flow-through openings. The method includes deflecting a first portion of the exhaust gas flow with the main body of the baffle plate. The method also includes allowing a second portion of the exhaust gas flow to flow through the flow-through openings of the baffle plate. The method also deflects the second portion of the exhaust gas flow at a downstream side of the main body with the louvers hereby causing the second portion of the exhaust gas flow to flow in the first direction about the perforated tube.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION APPARATUS
A exhaust gas purification apparatus is provided with: a substrate having a wall-flow structure and including entry-side cells, exit-side cells, and a porous partition; a first catalyst region formed in small diameter pores having relatively small pore diameters among internal pores in the partition; and a second catalyst region formed in large diameter pores having relatively large pore diameters among the internal pores in the partition. The first catalyst region contains a support and any one or two species of precious metal selected from Pt, Pd, and Rh loaded on the support, while the second catalyst region contains a support and any one or two species of precious metal selected from Pt, Pd, and Rh loaded on the support and other than at least the precious metal present in the first catalyst region.
EXHAUST TREATMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD
The present invention relates to an exhaust treatment apparatus (1) for an internal combustion engine (5). The apparatus includes a catalyst chamber (15) containing a catalyst (35). One or more exhaust gas inlets (11A-D) are provided for supplying exhaust gases from the internal combustion engine (5) to the catalyst chamber (C). An exhaust gas outlet (21) for supplying exhaust gases from the catalyst chamber to a turbocharger (25). An injection nozzle (19) is provided for introducing a reductant (23) into the exhaust gases between the catalyst (15) and the turbocharger (25). The reductant (23) and the exhaust gases can undergo mixing as they pass through the turbocharger (25). The catalyst (15) can have a three-dimensional open structure to facilitate the flow of exhaust gases. The invention also relates to a method of treating exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine (5).
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR A TWO-STAGE TURBOCHARGER
The disclosure relates to a supercharged, direct-injection internal combustion engine having an intake system for the supply of charge air and having an exhaust-gas discharge system for the discharge of exhaust gas and having at least two series-connected exhaust-gas turbochargers which each comprise a turbine arranged in the exhaust-gas discharge system and a compressor arranged in the intake system and of which a first exhaust-gas turbocharger serves as a low-pressure stage and a second exhaust-gas turbocharger serves as a high-pressure stage, a first bypass line being provided which branches off from the exhaust-gas discharge system between the first turbine and the second turbine so as to form a first junction point.
LEAN NOx TRAP PLUS LOW TEMPERATURE NOx ADSORBER SYSTEM FOR LOW TEMPERATURE NOx TRAPPING
The present disclosure is directed to an emission treatment system for NO.sub.x abatement in an exhaust stream of a lean burn engine. The emission treatment system includes a lean NO.sub.x trap (LNT) in fluid communication with and downstream from the lean burn engine and a low-temperature NO.sub.x adsorber (LT-NA) in fluid communication with and downstream of the LNT. Further provided is a method for abating NO.sub.x in an exhaust stream from a lean burn engine utilizing the disclosed system.
CATALYST FOR SIMULTANEOUSLY INHIBITING EMISSION OF AMMONIA AND NITROUS OXIDE
An object of the present invention is to increase the reduction performance of nitrogen oxides compared to existing three-way catalysts; simultaneously inhibit the emission of ammonia and nitrous oxide; simplify a process by means of a method of further doping an iridium-ruthenium catalyst into a commercial three-way catalyst; and expand the scope of application. The present invention provides a catalyst for simultaneously inhibiting the emission of ammonia and nitrous oxide by doping an iridium-ruthenium catalyst component into a three-way catalyst (TWC), a diesel oxidation catalyst, or a lean NOx trap supported on a honeycomb support.
Internal combustion engine/generator with pressure boost
This invention relates to improvements in internal combustion engines. More particularly it relates to increased levels of usable electrical energy production and fuel efficiency within a relatively fixed speed, cam-track style Engine/Generator when combined with the secondary injection or injections of a rapidly expanding medium (usually water) into the engines combustion chambers during and after the combustion process has been initiated. The injection of said medium causing reduced fuel consumption, increased cylinder pressure, an extended usable piston stroke length, and increased usable energy production, while reducing the temperature of the combustion gases in order to control or eliminate the production of the pollutant, NOx and to further reduce thermal pollution exhausted into the atmosphere.
