The present disclosure provides an exhaust gas purification catalyst having an improved Rh activation, which comprises a substrate and a catalyst coat layer formed on the substrate, the catalyst coat layer having a two-layer structure, wherein the catalyst coat layer includes an upstream portion on an upstream side and a downstream portion on a downstream side in an exhaust gas flow direction, and a part or all of the upstream portion is formed on a part of the downstream portion, wherein the upstream portion contains Rh fine particles and Pt, wherein the Rh fine particles have an average particle size measured by a transmission electron microscope observation of 1.0 nm or more to 2.0 nm or less, and a standard deviation σ of the particle size of 0.8 nm or less, and wherein the downstream portion contains Rh.

A system for removing methane oxidation catalyst (MOC) poisons from an exhaust gas including a methane abatement unit that may receive the exhaust gas having methane (CH.sub.4)and the MOC poisons. The methane abatement unit includes a guard bed that may remove the MOC poisons from the exhaust gas and may generate an intermediate exhaust gas having the CH.sub.4 and devoid of the MOC poisons. The guard bed includes a MOC poisons capturing component having a first transition metal oxide, an aluminum oxide (Al.sub.2O.sub.3) support material, and a dolomite-derived support material. The methane abatement unit also includes a MOC bed fluidly coupled to and positioned downstream from the guard bed. The MOC bed includes a MOC and may remove CH.sub.4 from the intermediate exhaust gas to generate a treated exhaust gas having less than approximately 200 parts per million volume (ppmv) CH.sub.4.

An exhaust aftertreatment unit for cleaning exhaust gases. The exhaust aftertreatment unit includes an emission reducing module being a diesel particulate filter, DPF, and/or a diesel oxidation catalyst, DOC, a selective catalyst reduction, SCR, catalyst, an electrical heating element arranged upstream of the SCR catalyst, a casing housing at least the emission reducing module, and a service lid removably arranged to cover a service opening of the casing through which the emission reducing module may be accessed. The electrical heating element is removably arranged relative the casing and is arranged accessible upon removal of the service lid.

A method for exhaust gas aftertreatment is provided, the method comprising: a) providing a nitrogen oxide-containing raw exhaust gas, b) introducing the nitrogen oxide-containing raw exhaust gas into a catalytic evaporator (1), c) introducing a urea solution and a fuel into the catalytic evaporator (1), as a result of which a reducing agent is obtained, and d) supplying the reducing agent to an exhaust gas aftertreatment system (8). Alternatively or in addition, a device for producing a reducing agent may be provided, a reducing agent produced with same, and the use of these objects.
