RADIATOR SHUTTER FOR MOTOR VEHICLES
A radiator shutter for a motor vehicle for controlled engine ventilation, having a frame in which at least two louvres are mounted rotatably to pivot from a closed position to an open position. A motor which drives a single louvre is provided in or on the frame on an engine side of the frame. On the same side is a coupling element which synchronously transmits the rotation of the louvre to the other louvres. A locking disc is provided for each louvre on the mounting side of the frame facing away from the engine side of the frame, in the region of the mounting provided there for the louvres. The locking discs have a form which, if at least one of the locking discs does not rotate synchronously with all the other locking discs, blocks the rotational movement of the locking discs in a force-fitting and form-fitting manner.
Motor cooling system
A cooling system includes a motor block, a radiator provided with a fan, a pump with an electrical motor to pump the coolant in a cooling circuit, a first temperature sensor at the outlet of the motor block, a second temperature sensor at the outlet of the radiator, a control unit-connected to the temperature sensors and to the electrical motor of the pump to actuate the electrical motor of the pump according to the temperature values detected by the sensor temperatures.

VEHICLE CONTROL APPARATUS AND VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD
A vehicle control apparatus includes a detector that detects an external temperature of a vehicle, a vehicle speed, and a coolant temperature of an engine, an input device that receives a signal for ON or OFF operations of a heating control, and a controller configured for determining a heating load depending on the heating control when the external temperature is less than a predetermined temperature and the signal for the ON operation of the heating control is input, and controls an operation of an integrated thermal management valve, a deactivation operation of cylinders included in the engine, and an operation of an active air flap, according to at least one of the heating load and the coolant temperature.

Vehicle including shutter device for adjusting temperature of coolant water of engine
A grille shutter is a device configured to adjust a temperature of coolant water of an engine by adjusting an amount of outside air introduced into a radiator of the engine. An ECU performs a failure diagnosis for the engine based on a temperature of coolant water of the engine. When the grille shutter is immovable in an opened state of the grille shutter regardless of an operating command to the grille shutter, the ECU renders the failure diagnosis process for the thermostat valve not to be executed. As a result, an incorrect operation of various controls executed based on a temperature of coolant water of the engine can be suppressed.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING TEMPERATURE IN AIR-COOLED ENGINES
An automated system for managing temperature and reducing crankcase oil dilution in an internal combustion engine. The system includes a rotatable shutter plate having an open portion, a closed portion and a peripheral rim, the peripheral rim having a frictional surface thereon; a motor having a rotatable shaft having a pinion affixed at one end thereof for engagement with the frictional surface of the peripheral rim of the rotatable shutter plate; and a temperature sensor for monitoring a temperature indicative of engine warm-up and sending a signal to a controller; wherein the rotatable shutter plate is structured and arranged to at least partially occlude an air inlet to or outlet from the internal combustion engine when rotated in response to a signal received from the controller. A method of reducing crankcase oil dilution and managing temperature in a spark-ignited engine operating on middle-distillate fuel and a portable engine or engine-generator combination having multi-fuel capability are also provided.

Method for adjusting a grille shutter opening
Methods and systems are provided for adjusting a grille shutter opening based on an estimated amount of fuel in oil dilution. In one example, a method may include adjusting a grille shutter opening to a closed position in response to an oil dilution amount above a threshold, the position determined based on the oil dilution amount in addition to each of engine coolant temperature and acceleration/deceleration.
