A coolant circuit for a drive device. It includes a first coolant sub-circuit and a second coolant sub-circuit, in each of which a device to be temperature-controlled is arranged and which are fluidically connected to one another via at least one connecting valve, wherein at least one coolant pump is provided in each of the two coolant sub-circuits, which is designed in at least one of the coolant sub-circuits as a fluid pump having variable delivery direction. The disclosure furthermore relates to a method for operating a coolant circuit for a drive device.

MULTI-WAY COOLANT VALVE AND HEAT PUMP SYSTEM HAVING THE SAME

A multi-way coolant valve and a heat pump system having the same include an external housing in which first, second and third external inlets and first, second and third external outlets are formed; and an internal housing provided rotatably inside the external housing to selectively fluidically-connect the first, second and third external inlets, and the first, second and third external outlets, and divided into two stages through which a coolant flows respectively, wherein as the internal housing rotates at a predetermined interval in a selected mode of the vehicle, the first external inlet selectively fluidically-communicates with the first external outlet, the second external outlet, or the third external outlet, the second external inlet selectively fluidically-communicates with the first external outlet or the second external outlet, and the third external inlet selectively fluidically-communicates with the first external outlet, the second external outlet, or the third external outlet.

A cylinder head includes: an exhaust port configured to lead out exhaust gas from combustion chamber; an intake port configured to introduce fresh air into the combustion chamber; and an EGR gas passage in which EGR gas flows, wherein exhaust outlets of the exhaust port and an EGR gas inlet of the second EGR pipe are located on a first side of the cylinder head and, and a fresh air inlet communicated to the intake port and an EGR gas outlet of the EGR gas passage are located on a second side which is opposite from the first side.

Arrangement and a control method of an engine cooling system

An engine cooling system in a vehicle comprises a first coolant circuit and a second coolant circuit connecting an engine to a radiator. A thermostat is arranged in the first coolant circuit and is arranged to be closed during engine warm-up, to prevent flow through the first coolant circuit. The cooling system further comprises a bypass circuit connecting the thermostat to the second coolant circuit and at least one parallel circuit. Each parallel circuit is connected to the second coolant circuit upstream of the bypass circuit, wherein a partial coolant flow is directed from the bypass circuit and upstream through the second coolant circuit into the at least one parallel circuit during engine warm-up. The disclosure further relates to a method for controlling such an engine cooling system.

A cylinder head includes: an exhaust port configured to lead out exhaust gas from combustion chamber; an intake port configured to introduce fresh air into the combustion chamber; and an EGR gas passage in which EGR gas flows, wherein exhaust outlets of the exhaust port and an EGR gas inlet of the second EGR pipe are located on a first side of the cylinder head and, and a fresh air inlet communicated to the intake port and an EGR gas outlet of the EGR gas passage are located on a second side which is opposite from the first side.

The invention relates to an internal combustion engine comprising a combustion engine (10) and a cooling system, which has a coolant pump (40), a main cooler (38), a heating heat exchanger (36), coolant channels (28, 30) in the combustion engine (10), and a control device (20) having an actuator (26) for the closed-loop distribution of a coolant according to at least one local coolant temperature, characterised in that the control device (20) can be connected to a coolant compensation container (106) via a connection in line and, with an actuation of the actuator (26) in one direction, the control device (20): permits a coolant flow through the coolant channels (28, 30) of the combustion engine (10), and through the heating heat exchanger (36), and prevents same through the main cooler (38), and closes the connection line in a first primary position (80); releases the connection line in a second primary position (96); and also permits a coolant flow though the main cooler (38) in a third primary position (126).

A thermostatic valve for controlling the temperature of the coolant in an internal combustion engine controls the flow of coolant between the internal combustion engine and a heat exchanger. The valve includes an actuation element which functions in a temperature-dependent manner for actuating lift of a main valve and of a bypass valve in a valve housing. The actuation element has a stationary piston supported on a valve housing part. A housing can be displaced relative to the piston and on which the valve members of the main valve and of the bypass valve are arranged. Further provided is a monitoring device for the position of the main valve, which works in a contactless manner and which has at least one sensor element contained in the valve housing part, and at least one associated permanent magnet for generating a magnetic field to which the sensor element is exposed.

Provided are a cooling system and a method for controlling the same, with which it is possible to bleed air in a coolant flow path, quickly raise a coolant temperature to quickly heat air during air-heating, and quickly lower the coolant temperature to minimize knocking early when knocking occurs. A cooling system 1 comprises a main passage L1 through which a coolant is circulated between an internal combustion engine 2 and a radiator 3, an auxiliary passage 12 through which the coolant is circulated between the internal combustion engine and heat exchangers 4, 5, 6, a thermostat 7 that opens and closes the main passage L1 in response to the coolant temperature, a thermostat bypass path L3 that bypasses the thermostat 7 to allow communication between the internal combustion engine and the radiator, and a motor-operated valve 8 that opens and closes the auxiliary passage and the thermostat bypass path.
