Hybrid vehicle

A hybrid vehicle includes: an internal combustion engine; a rotating electric machine; a planetary gear mechanism to which the internal combustion engine, the rotating electric machine and an output shaft are connected; a catalyst that purifies exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine; and a controller that controls the internal combustion engine and the rotating electric machine. The controller controls the internal combustion engine and the rotating electric machine to perform catalyst temperature control to shift an operating point on a map representing a relationship between rotation speed of the internal combustion engine and torque generated by the internal combustion engine so that the catalyst has a temperature within an appropriate temperature range. Degradation of the catalyst can be suppressed without deteriorating the function of the catalyst.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A CRYOGENIC FUEL SYSTEM

A method of operating a cryogenic fuel system for supplying fuel to an engine is provided herein. A cryogenic fuel pump is operated to pump fuel to be supplied to the engine. At least a portion of the pumped fuel is diverted to be supplied to an accumulator, when a fuel demand of the engine is less than a discharge output of the cryogenic fuel pump. Further, the supply of the pumped fuel from the cryogenic fuel pump to the engine and the accumulator is stopped, when a pressure within the accumulator reaches a first predefined pressure limit. Furthermore, the fuel is supplied to the engine from the accumulator, when supply of the pumped fuel from the cryogenic fuel pump to the engine and the accumulator is stopped.

CONTROL DEVICE OF VEHICLE

A control device of a vehicle capable of improving acceleration responsiveness and suppressing increase in the NOx emission amount when a required torque is increased during a steady lean operation. A target air-fuel ratio (AFCMD) is set according to an accelerator pedal operation of a driver. When the driver depresses an accelerator pedal to make an acceleration request during the lean operation, in which the AFCMD is set to a predetermined lean air-fuel ratio (AFLN), air-fuel ratio reduction control is executed to reduce the AFCMD according to the acceleration request. In the air-fuel ratio reduction control, when the AFCMD calculated according to a required torque (TRQCMD) is smaller than a limit air-fuel ratio (AFLMT), the AFCMD is set to the AFLMT, and the AFLMT is set to a value smaller than the AFLN set in a steady state of the lean operation and larger than a theoretical air-fuel ratio (AFST).

Leakage Detection in Engine Air Systems

A leak detection system for an engine air system is provided. The leak detection system may include a plurality of pressure sensors configured to retrieve pressure data from the engine air system, a plurality of temperature sensors configured to retrieve temperature data from the engine air system, and a controller in communication with each of the pressure sensors and the temperature sensors. The controller may be configured to receive the pressure data and the temperature data, compare the pressure data and the temperature data to one or more predefined data trends, and identify a leak within the engine air system based on the comparison.
