20220412231 · 2022-12-29 ·

A radial engine-generator includes an electric power generator and a radial engine. The radial engine-generator can be a mobile and portable unit, and is employable as a primary or back-up source of electric power at data centers, manufacturing facilities, electric vehicle charging stations, medical facilities, telecommunications, and residential neighborhoods, among many other applications. The electric power generator and radial engine are coupled together. The radial engine includes, among other components, multiple cylinders, multiple cylinder heads, and multiple overhead camshaft assemblies. The overhead camshaft assemblies are located at the cylinder heads and each include one or more camshafts. The camshaft(s) receive rotational drive input from a crankshaft of the radial engine. In certain implementations, camshaft carrier assemblies can be provided to support components of the overhead camshaft assemblies.

The present invention provides a system for the reversible transformation of a reciprocating motion in a rotary motion, which comprises one or more actuating devices (11) adapted to cooperate on at least one interaction surface of a spiral profiled rotor (3), the system it is characterized in that each actuating device of said plurality of actuating devices (11) comprises hydraulic or internal combustion cylinders; the arrangement being such that each actuating device (11) urges a tubular slidable rod coupled to a respective cylinder, said tubular rod being associated with a slider (5), the slider (5) being adapted to transmit the thrust of said tubular rod (6) on said at least one interaction surface of the spiral profiled rotor (3) creating a torque on said rotor (3).

Asymmetric cam transmission with coaxial counter rotating shafts
11261946 · 2022-03-01 ·

A drive transmission has two counter-rotating cams bearing-mounted within a housing about a rotational axis. The counter-rotating cams have asymmetrical lobe profiles which are operative to drive a corresponding pair of coaxial drive shafts in opposite directions along the rotational axis. The asymmetry of the lobe profiles prevents the cams from locking when the lobe apexes pass the top and bottom dead center positions relative to the follower or drive pins.

Modular Internal Combustion Engine with Adaptable Piston Stroke

A modular internal combustion engine (10) comprising a cam crank (74) having a piston stroke guide pattern (76) to control the stroke motion profile of the piston (70), which can be expanded by replacing the crank shaft (22) with a longer crank shaft (22), and installing a supplemental engine block (18) with a supplemental cam crank assembly (75).

Pressure differential engine

Highly efficient pressure differential rotary engines can include rotatable cylinders arranged radially around a central stationary shaft. Each of the cylinders can house one or more pistons, and the cylinders and pistons can rotate together about the central stationary shaft. Pressure differentials within the cylinders can be used to power the rotation of the cylinders about the central stationary shaft.

Internal combustion engine with an epicyclic gear train and reciprocating pistons

Internal combustion engine with cylinders disposed radially around an axis (Z), in each of which slides a piston carrying out reciprocating rectilinear movements, reversibly transformed into a continuous rotation of an output shaft by: an active unit and passive unit each respectively having a planet gear, the axis of which is parallel to (Z), being capable of meshing with a ring gear, being maintained on its orbit via a planet carrier and having a pitch diameter identical to the pitch radius of the corresponding ring gear. The planet gear is driven in rotation by the planet gear and/or the planet carrier. Each planet gear is respectively rigidly connected to a connecting rod having crank pins, the axes of which are parallel to the axis (Z), pass through the pitch circle of the corresponding planet gear and being capable of cooperating by contact with rods rigidly connected to the pistons.
