Apparatus and method for testing a vehicle powertrain using a dynamometer
A test method for a vehicle powertrain includes, during a first test in which dynamic engine torque from a powertrain drives a vehicle on a road, recording throttle position or accelerator pedal position to define a throttle schedule, and recording engine speed to define an engine speed schedule. The test method further includes, during a second test of a vehicle engine, controlling a dynamometer and the vehicle engine according to the engine speed schedule and throttle schedule to reproduce the dynamic engine torque.
In-situ sensor for fuel spray impingement in direct injection engines
A sensor device system for detection of a liquid adjacent to the sensor having a glass fiber laminate substrate, at least one pair of comb electrodes formed on the glass fiber laminate substrate, a first of the pair of comb electrodes being interdigitated with a second of the pair of comb electrodes, the pair of comb electrodes defining geometric parameters; and a passivation coating covering the pair of comb electrodes.
Method for improving fuel economy by influencing driver behavior
A vehicle computer system (e.g., on-board vehicle computer system) obtains a fuel economy performance goal for a vehicle (e.g., an engine speed goal or a vehicle speed goal) that is based on a configuration of the vehicle; calculates a count of events in which a current value exceeds the goal; compares the count of events with a threshold count; and generates one or more notifications based at least in part on the comparison (e.g., for display on an operator interface). The vehicle computer system also calculates an engine speed and a vehicle speed score for a driver of the vehicle based at least in part on comparisons of current speeds with the speed goals. Scoring and other data may be displayed or stored for further processing.
Apparatus and method for testing using dynamometer
A test method includes deriving road grade information or wind load information from test schedule torque outputs generated by a dynamometer operatively arranged with a first vehicle, and controlling an accelerator pedal, an accelerator pedal signal, a fuel injector, a manifold pressure, a motor controller, or a throttle valve associated with the first or a second vehicle according to a speed schedule such that the dynamometer, or another dynamometer, programmed with the road grade information or wind load information and operatively arranged with the first or second vehicle applies a load to the first or second vehicle that reflects the road grade information or wind load information.
Vehicle controller, vehicle control system, vehicle learning device, vehicle learning method, vehicle control method, and memory medium
A vehicle controller is provided. An update process updates a relationship defining data by inputting, to a predetermined update map, a state of a vehicle, a value of an action variable used to operate an electronic device, and a reward corresponding to that electronic device. A reward calculating process provides, based on the state of the vehicle obtained by an obtaining process, a greater reward when a characteristic of the vehicle meets a standard than when the characteristic of the vehicle does not meet the standard. A loosening process loosens the standard to a larger extent when the degree of deterioration is large than when the degree of deterioration is small.
