Fuel, communications, and power connection systems and related methods

Embodiments of system and methods for supplying fuel, enabling communications, and conveying electric power associated with operation of a hydraulic fracturing unit of a plurality of hydraulic fracturing units are disclosed and may include a fuel line connection assembly configured to be connected to the first hydraulic fracturing unit and to supply fuel from a fuel source to a gas turbine engine connected to the hydraulic fracturing unit. A system also may include a communications cable assembly configured to be connected to the hydraulic fracturing unit and to enable data communications between the hydraulic fracturing unit and a data center or another hydraulic fracturing unit. A system further may include a power cable assembly configured to be connected to the hydraulic fracturing unit and to convey electric power between the hydraulic fracturing unit and a remote electrical power source or the plurality of hydraulic fracturing units.

Turboshaft gas turbine engine

The turboshaft engine for a rotorcraft includes a low pressure spool having a low pressure compressor and a low pressure turbine section, and a high pressure spool having a high pressure compressor and a high pressure turbine section. The spools are independently rotatable relative to one another. The low pressure compressor section includes a mixed flow rotor. A set of variable guide vanes (VGVs) are discposed upstream of each of the low pressure and high pressure compressors, the VGVs being configured to be independently operable relative to one another.

The turboshaft engine for a rotorcraft includes a low pressure spool having a low pressure compressor and a low pressure turbine section, and a high pressure spool having a high pressure compressor and a high pressure turbine section. The spools are independently rotatable relative to one another. The low pressure compressor section includes a mixed flow rotor. An electric machine is configured to augment rotational power of at least one of the high speed spool and the low speed spool. A controller is configured to control the electric machine to one of add or subtract rotational energy to or from at least one of the high speed spool and the low speed spool during a transition to or from an idle state of operation of the gas turbine engine.

A combined cycle plant includes: a gas turbine having a compressor, a combustor, and a turbine; a supplementary firing burner configured to raise a temperature of an exhaust gas of the gas turbine; a heat recovery steam generator configured to generate a steam using an exhaust heat of the exhaust gas; a steam turbine configured to be driven by the steam generated by the heat recovery steam generator; and a control device configured to change both an output of the combustor and an output of the supplementary firing burner when an output of the combined cycle plant is to be changed.

A method of distributing power within a gas turbine engine is disclosed. In various embodiments, the method includes driving a high pressure turbine having a first stage and a second stage with an exhaust stream from a combustor, the first stage connected to a high pressure turbine first stage spool and the second stage connected to a high pressure turbine second stage spool; driving a high pressure compressor connected to a high pressure compressor spool via a differential system, the differential system having a first stage input gear connected to the high pressure turbine first stage spool, a second stage input gear connected to the high pressure turbine second stage spool and an output gear assembly connected to the high pressure compressor spool; and selectively applying an auxiliary input power into at least one of the high pressure compressor spool and the high pressure turbine.
