Intake bypass for liquid fuel engine
A fuel supply system for an internal combustion engine includes an air compressor, an air cooler connected downstream of the air compressor and the compressed air supply passage, and a bypass passage connected downstream of the air compressor. The fuel supply system also includes a fuel injector secured to the compressed air supply passage or secured to the bypass passage and a valve connected between the air compressor and the air cooler, the valve being configured to block a flow of intake air to the air cooler, causing the intake air to flow to the bypass passage or to permit the flow of intake air to the air cooler.
CHARGE-FLOW ADJUSTMENT IN CLOSED-LOOP EXHAUST TEMPERATURE CONTROL ON DUAL FUEL ENGINES
Methods and systems of controlling operation of a dual fuel engine are provided, comprising determining a target exhaust temperature, sensing an actual exhaust temperature, determining an exhaust temperature deviation by comparing the actual exhaust temperature to the target exhaust temperature, comparing the exhaust temperature deviation to a threshold, adjusting at least one of an intake throttle, a wastegate, a compressor bypass valve, an exhaust throttle, a VGT and engine valve timing when the exhaust temperature deviation exceeds the threshold to control charge-flow to the engine, and continuing the adjusting until the exhaust temperature deviation is less than the threshold.
INJECTION DEVICE FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
An injection device for an internal combustion engine, the internal combustion engine including a combustion chamber and at least one intake manifold, the injection device including a first injector for injecting a fuel directly into the combustion chamber, and the injection device including a second injector for injection into the intake manifold, wherein the second injector is configured to inject water.
DUAL FUEL LOCKOUT SWITCH FOR GENERATOR ENGINE
A mechanical fuel lockout switch for a dual fuel engine includes a mechanical fuel valve actuatable between a first position and a second position to selectively control fuel flow to the dual fuel engine from a first fuel source through a first fuel line and a second fuel source through a second fuel line. The mechanical fuel lockout switch may also include a fuel lockout apparatus coupled to the mechanical fuel valve. The mechanical fuel valve may be configured to allow communication between the first fuel source and the dual fuel engine and prevent communication between the second fuel source and the dual fuel engine while in the first position, and prevent communication between the first fuel source and the dual fuel engine while in the second position.
HOMOGENEOUS CHARGE COMPRESSION IGNITION (HCCI-TYPE) COMBUSTION SYSTEM FOR AN ENGINE AND POWERTRAIN USING WET-ALCOHOL AS A FUEL AND INCLUDING HOT ASSIST IGNITION
An internal combustion-type engine or powertrain that is capable of burning wet-alcohol fuel mixture and including a piston reciprocating within a cylinder attached to a cylinder head and connecting to a crank shaft via a connecting rod. An intake cam and valve is mounted within an intake port formed in the cylinder head and an exhaust cam and valve is mounted within an exhaust port also formed in the cylinder head. A pressurized fuel source is introduced into the cylinder by a fuel injector and the percentage of water in the alcohol/water mix operates to prolong the cylinder pressure in order to increase a mean effective pressure (IMEP), leading to a higher torque (improved Brake Mean Effective Pressure—BMEP) of the engine via a longer pressure pulse attained during the period of preferred mechanical advantage of the crank-arm of the engine.
Turbine fracturing system, controlling method thereof, controlling apparatus and storage medium
A turbine fracturing system and a controlling method thereof, a controlling apparatus and a storage medium are provided. The turbine fracturing system includes: N turbine fracturing apparatuses, wherein each of the N turbine fracturing apparatuses comprises a turbine engine, and N is an integer greater than or equal to 2; a fuel gas supply apparatus connected to the N turbine engines, wherein the fuel gas supply apparatus is configured to supply fuel gas and distribute the fuel gas to the N turbine engines as gaseous fuel; and a fuel liquid supply apparatus connected to at least one of the N turbine engines and configured to supply liquid fuel to at least one of the N turbine engines in a case that at least one of a flow rate and a pressure of the fuel gas decreases.
Electronic control unit and fuel type analysis method
An electronic control unit for a vehicle with a combustion engine and a method of fuel analysis are provided. At least one dynamic torque sensor value from a high pressure pump of the vehicle and at least one additional sensor value including at least one pressure sensor value and/or at least one timing value are used to determine whether a combustible fuel type currently in use is known, unknown, or similar to a known fuel type. In each case, the operation of the combustion engine is optimized using specific parameter configurations for the fuel injectors of the vehicle. The specific parameter configurations are either retrieved from a database, or are generated using artificial intelligence methods.
Multi-fuel switching device
A multi-fuel switching device, including a gas part, is provided. The gas part includes a switching valve. The switching valve includes a housing having an air inlet and an air outlet. An internal rotation of the housing is provided with a valve core located between the air inlet and the air outlet. The valve core is provided with a first airway and a second airway. Cross-sectional sizes of the first airway and the second airway are different. The first airway or the second airway is selected through rotating the valve core to connect the air inlet and the air outlet. The solution solves the issue that a fuel switching device in the prior art cannot adapt to three or more fuels, which causes an internal combustion engine to be unable to maintain the optimal working state.
Vaporizing methanol using exhaust gas and an electrical heating component
A system may include a first methanol tank and a second methanol tank connected to the first tank. The system may include a first valve fluidly connected to the first methanol tank and the second methanol tank. The system may include a heat exchanger connected to the second methanol tank and a turbine of a turbocharger. The system may include a second valve fluidly connected to an intake system of an engine.
