ADJUSTABLE FUEL PLATE FOR DIESEL ENGINE FUEL PUMP
An adjustable fuel plate device for a diesel fuel pump is disclosed. The adjustable fuel plate device can include a fuel plate to limit travel of a governor arm of a diesel fuel pump for a diesel engine. The adjustable fuel plate device can also include a translation mechanism to move the fuel plate relative to the governor arm. Additionally, the adjustable fuel plate device can include a control system coupleable to the translation mechanism to control movement of the fuel plate during operation of the engine.
Altitude fuel limiter for engine and method of using the same
An altitude fuel limiter and method for controlling an engine using the same is provided. The altitude fuel limiter includes a torque screw sleeve extending from an inboard end to an outboard end. The torque screw sleeve has an interior surface defining a central bore extending axially within the torque screw sleeve. A plunger is disposed within the central bore and moves axially between a first position and a second position. A plunger regulator senses ambient pressure and is coupled with the plunger to axially displace the plunger toward the inboard end of the torque screw sleeve to the first position in response to sensing an ambient pressure that is below a predetermined pressure. The predetermined pressure may be associated with non-compliant altitudes and the plunger limits fuel delivered to the engine when displaced to the first position.
Alerting method for predictive maintenance of a high-pressure pump in an internal combustion engine
Disclosed is a method of alerting to the state of a high-pressure pump of an engine including a relief valve, a threshold pressure defining the opening pressure of the relief valve, the pump supplying fuel under pressure to a chamber equipped with a pressure sensor, including the following steps: initializing a computer when the engine is cut off during which cut-off a threshold pressure and a value of a first counter are collected in a memory associated with the computer; measuring the pressure of the fuel in the chamber; incrementing the first counter if the pressure of the fuel in the chamber is above or equal to the threshold pressure; and triggering an alert when the value of the first counter crosses a predetermined threshold.

Method and system for diagnosing unintended fuelling from fuel injectors of an engine
Provided is a method for diagnosing unintended fuelling from one or more fuel injectors of a multi cylinder internal combustion engine during engine operation. Pressurized fuel is intended to be distributed by means of said fuel injectors from said accumulator tank to the cylinders for combustion. An oxidation catalyst is arranged downstream said cylinders. The method comprises: determining the pressure in the fuel accumulator tank and whether said pressure is decreasing; and determining whether the actual amount of fuel provided by the pump unit exceeds the demanded amount of fuel. The method further comprises the steps of: determining whether the temperature associated with the oxidation catalyst is above a certain level and/or determining whether the air/fuel ratio is below a certain level and/or determining whether an amount of particulate matter is above a certain level; and confirming an unintended fuelling based on the determined conditions.

Fuel injection pump
A fuel injection pump includes a plunger, a plunger barrel which supports the plunger, a body which houses the plunger and the plunger barrel, a plate which covers an opening formed on the body, a control lever turnably attached near the plate, and an adjuster bolt which abuts against the control lever to restrict turn of the control lever and is supported by a stay disposed on the plate.

Device for controlling the speed of an internal combustion engine
A device for controlling the speed of an internal combustion engine comprising a control lever movably associated to a support element, which may be the engine casing or a portion thereof. The control lever is moveable at least between a first position, in which the engine is at a first rotation regime, and a second position, in which the engine is at a second rotation time. A selective locking mechanism is provided that prohibits the control lever from being stably positioned at any (and all) intermediate positions between the first and second positions. In one embodiment, a biasing force generated by the device automatically forces the control lever into one of the first or second positions when the control lever is located in any of the intermediate positions and an actuation force is ceased.
