The present invention relates to an injector for injecting fuel, comprising an injector housing, a movable nozzle needle which is arranged in the injector housing and has a nozzle needle tip, a nozzle needle seat for receiving the nozzle needle tip, and a mechanical switch which upon contact of the nozzle needle tip with the nozzle needle seat assumes a closed state and upon interruption of the contact assumes an open state, wherein the injector is provided with an input line and an output line for actuating a movement of the nozzle needle, and the switch includes a first terminal and a second terminal. The injector is characterized in that the first terminal of the switch is connected to the input line and the second terminal of the switch is connected to the injector housing.
Load drive device, engine system
Provided is a load drive device capable of diagnosing a failure of an output terminal of the load drive device before a charging voltage stabilizes in a configuration in which a capacitor is connected to an output terminal of the load drive device that drives an inductive load. In the load drive device according to the present invention, a capacitor is connected between a load terminal and a ground terminal, and the presence or absence of a failure of the load terminal is diagnosed on the basis of a current flowing between an internal power supply included in a diagnosis circuit and the load terminal.
MIXED FUEL ENGINE
A system, method and circuit restricts the amount of a first fuel being provided to a duel-fuel engine, for example a diesel—natural gas engine; wherein a secondary circuit is provided, in parallel, to the circuit formed between the engine control unit, first fuel injector, and ground comprising a dummy load, and a normally closed switch inserted in the first fuel injection circuit; such that when the normally open switch is in a closed state the dummy load provides a resistance to the second sub-circuit, such that a total resistance in the second sub-circuit is equal to a total resistance in the first sub-circuit when the normally closed switch is in a closed state.
DEVICE FOR DETECTING THE STATE OF A FUEL INJECTOR
A device comprises: an injector for injecting fuel into an engine combustion chamber, a switch formed by an injector housing and an injector nozzle needle and which changes its switching state depending on a closed or open state of the injector, an input line for supplying energy to an actuating element which adjusts the nozzle needle in its two states, an output line for conducting energy away from the actuating element, and an evaluation unit for detecting the switching state of the switch, wherein a first switch contact of the switch is connected to an electrical input line of the injector, a second switch contact of the switch is connected to ground, and the evaluation unit is configured to carry out a signal measurementon the input line and/or an output line to conclude a switch state.
Control logic circuit for connecting multiple high side loads in engine control module
Methods and apparatuses for connecting multiple loads with a common return pin in engine control module application are disclosed. Only one of the multiple loads can be connected to a power source at a time. At the high side, each load is coupled to the power source through a respective pin at a connector. At the low side, the multiple loads share a common return pin at the connector that connects the loads to the ground. When a first load is connected to the power source at the high side, a first low side driver circuit is used to connect the first load to the ground at the low side. When a second load is connected to the power source at the high side, the second low side driver circuit is used to connect the second load to the ground at the low side.
FUEL INJECTION DEVICE
A fuel injection device includes: an injector, an electronic control device, a communication circuit, and a power supply circuit. A memory is provided in the injector for storing fuel injection control data set for each injector. The electronic control device controls a fuel injection of the injector based on the control data. The communication circuit is installed for each injector, and enables the electronic control device to access the memory via wireless communication. The power supply circuit is installed for each injector, has a power source that supplies electric power to the communication circuit, and receives electric power to charge the power source from a drive line that connects the electronic control device and a drive unit of the injector.
DIAGNOSIS OF BOOST CAPACITOR USING DISCHARGE CIRCUIT
A fuel injection valve drive control device includes a boost circuit having a boost coil, a switching component (FFT or the like) supplying a switching current from a battery source voltage to the boost coil, and a boost capacitor accumulating a boosted voltage generated by the operation of the switching component; a discharge circuit for discharging the accumulated electric charge via a current limiter (e.g. discharge resistor, constant current source) and a discharge switch (FET or the like); and a monitoring circuit for monitoring the accumulated voltage. The discharge circuit is caused to operate when the control device is shutting down and performs a deterioration/failure diagnosis of the boost capacitor and an operation check of the discharge circuit on the basis of a monitored voltage value of the boost capacitor at starting the discharge operation and a monitored voltage value of the boost capacitor after a predetermined time has elapsed.
Fluid injector
A fluid injector comprising a coil arranged to drive a pump from a first state to a second state when energized, so as to pump a dosing fluid; a PN junction electrically arranged across the coil to discharge energy stored in the coil when the voltage across the coil is above a threshold. In one particular embodiment, the fluid injector is a selective catalytic reduction dosing fluid injector.
INJECTION CONTROL DEVICE
An injection control device includes: a boost controller charging a boost capacitor by performing a boost switching control of a boost switch, and supplying a boost power from a battery power source; and a boost voltage monitor monitors a boost voltage. The boost controller measures a number of times of when the boost voltage becomes equal to or higher than a predetermined value due to a boost current flowing into the boost capacitor, causing a jump of the boost voltage during a time between a start and stop of boosting, and determines deterioration of the boost capacitor by comparing the measured number of times (i.e., the number of jumps) with a predetermined number of times.
